BRGR will permanently open the shutters of its two restaurants in Glasgow on February 11.

The burger chain had previously closed sites in Edinburgh and Giffnock

The popular hamburger chain announced the closures on social media, much to the disappointment of its loyal fans.

The message read: “BRGR will open for the final time on February 11th.

“Let's make the next two weeks a special O'Cajun, grab the Hot Chick in your life and come by for one last BRGR.

“We want to thank you for your support over the past ten years and for all the memories we have made.”

One person said: “I hated hearing this, I've always enjoyed my visits.”

Another added: “You have no idea how sad this just made me.”

While a third said: “My favorite place”.

The menu includes items such as “The Bigger Mac,” which claims to be “like the Big Mac, but better.”

It also has a selection of vegan and vegetarian options, side dishes and different milkshake flavors to choose from.

One of the restaurants is located on Royal Exchange Square in the city center and the other on Great Western Road in the West End.

The closures come after sites in Edinburgh and Giffnock were previously closed.

It's a tough time for businesses in both hospitality and retail, with shops and restaurants closing at an alarming rate.

The rising cost of living and rising rents are all taking their toll on businesses and it's not just smaller self-employed people who are struggling.

Last year, major hamburger chain Byron announced it would close half of its restaurants to avoid going bankrupt.

Popular pizza takeaway chain Papa Johns also recently confirmed that it will be closing eight branches with immediate effect.

Italian restaurant chain Prezzo announced plans in April to close 46 restaurants due to rising energy and food costs, putting 810 jobs at risk.

Even Wetherspoon has struggled to weather the storm, with 40 pubs closing last year and as many as 20 preparing to close this year.

It's not all bad news though, as in November last year Nando's announced it was in the process of opening 14 new UK restaurants.
