A DELIVEROO driver was “sprayed with blood” after biting off a customer’s entire thumb in succession during a pizza.

Stephen, 36, had ordered one Pizza on the delivery app, but Rocha arrived from his home down the street.

When Stephen went to get his foodhe forgot his phone, which led to an argument over his delivery code number.

He said the argument got out of hand and Rocha was a attack at him.

Stephen told it BBC: “All I remember was shaking her helmet to get her off.”

Rocha bit through Stephen’s thumb before finally letting go.

“It was like it had gone through a chainsaw.”

Rocha has pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm after the attack in December 2022.

The 35-year-old receives a punishment Winchester Crown Court on May 3.

Deliveroo said: “This was a terrible incident. We have immediately terminated the account of the rider involved.”

A spokesperson added: “We have co-operated fully with police in the investigation.

“Deliveroo delivery drivers are self-employed, which has been confirmed several times by British courts.

“Substitution is and always has been a common feature of self-employment. It is not specific to Deliveroo, nor to our sector.”
