In her videoMichelle Savage (@maidbynature) showed her audience “how to dust as a professional cleaner.”

The TikToker explained that she was dusting a client’s home, which was particularly dusty.

“I thought I’d show you how my method works in a room that gets really dusty,” she said.

“She has carpet in the room mixed with dark furniture and that, my friends, is a recipe for dust.”

For her first step, Michelle used a Swiffer and extender to wipe down all the surfaces in the house.

“I just use a Swiffer and an extender because I can get from high to low with minimal bending,” she told her viewers.

“Then I wipe with a damp microfiber cloth. No product was used, no polish, no crazy concoctions you see on TikTok.”

Michelle explained why she wiped down the surfaces before damp dusting.

“If I just used a damp microfiber cloth and didn’t go over things with the Swiffer first, I would get a lot of dust on my cloth,” she said.

“I would have to make several trips back and forth to a sink to rinse it out.”

I’m a professional cleaner and there’s a stomach-churning reason why you should ALWAYS clean the walls around your toilet

Michelle praised the Swiffer, saying it “does a much more thorough job.”

“The Swiffer collects most of the dust and hair and then going through it again with the wet microfiber cloth will remove anything that may have been left behind,” she explained.

“Plus, it takes care of fingerprints and coffee mug rings.”
