EDDIE HEARN believes Gervonta Davis' demands may have scuppered a fight with Conor Benn.
Negotiations for a shock showdown between the pair began just days after Benn's victory over Peter Dobson in Las Vegas earlier this month.
However, two-weight world champion Davis has seemingly pulled the plug on the showdown, with Team Benn now turning their attention to a clash with Danny Garcia.
And speaking to SunSport earlier this month, Hearn revealed that Davis' asking price for the fight could very well thwart the unexpected clash.
The Matchroom Boxing chief said: “We've talked and gone back and forth on numbers.
'Gervonta will always feel that the offer is not good enough.
“He made a lot of them money against Ryan Garcia. But with the benefits of pay-per-view and the gate, I think the fight could be huge.”
Rising welterweight contender Benn versus the controversial Davis wasn't on Hearn's radar until the pair started going back and forth on X.
He admitted: 'It's not something I ever really anticipated, but actually, if you think about it logically, it makes a lot of sense.
“Conor is fighting a smaller guy who is very good and is definitely the favorite on paper.

'For Gervonta he will think that Conor Benn is an easy job.'
Should Davis change his mind, Hearn has no doubt the show will do well at the box office.
He continued: 'I think it's doing really well out of the gate, I think of the pay-per-view story of the Brit, who got a huge following here and a great profile.
“And Gervonta is huge in America, I think it could do very well.
“We want to organize that fight in America, but there is still a long way to go.”
Benn's attention is apparently no longer focused on Davis, to whom he issued a blunt message on social media after learning he had turned down the fight.
He said: “P***y [cat emoij] never to me again. @Gervonta.”
Baltimore powerhouse Davis, 29, has not stepped foot in the ring since stopping Ryan Garcia in the seventh round of their showdown in Las Vegas last April.
