A CONCERNED traveler has revealed the five wedding traditions Gypsies follow that ‘country people’ find strange.

Unlike many ‘non-travellers’, Charlotte Ann, 29, revealed she doesn’t have a huge bill to pay at the end of her wedding day – because relatives are paying for the whole thing.

In the clip posted to TikTok (@charlotteann00), she begins: ‘The most important thing we do that people in rural areas find strange is that we ask our parents.

‘Disclosure: I’m talking about me and my family, not about every traveler and gypsy, or every country person either.

“So we ask our parents – obviously the boy will have to ask you ‘will you marry me’ blah blah blah and then he will have to ask the girl’s mum and dad.

‘He will need their permission if they can get married, that’s how it goes.

“The mom and dad have to say yes – you have to have their blessing to get married.”

She then notes how all the family members are paying for the wedding.
“So we won’t pay… there will be no bills for me!”

Charlotte-Ann then says that she will not have any specific invitations for a wedding.

“Whoever wants to go, goes,” she explains.

“Usually it’s just the family going to chapel or church – as well as immediate family such as cousins, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters etc.

“Before the after-do, after dinner, anyone who wants to go will go – there are no invitations… let’s all party!”

I’m a gypsy and trolls say they’re ‘speechless’ in my decor, but I don’t care, I like glitzy ‘in your face’ ornaments

Charlotte points out that that’s another gypsy wedding tradition
the men do not sit with the women.

“So usually at a wedding you have an area where all the women sit, usually around the dance floor and the men sit in a separate room or in the back… the only ones mingling are the teenage boys and girls dancing.

“The older ones say, ‘No, you sit there and I sit here.'”

And finally, Charlotte-Ann says that when it comes to planning the wedding, she knows the rural family will help them plan, but says her mother will arrange everything for her.

“She chooses my dress, she does everything! Everything arranged, all ready, so hassle-free.”
