Hollyoaks viewers were left unimpressed when the identity of Rayne Royce’s killer was finally revealed on Friday.
The social media influencer, played by Jemma Donovan, was murdered in September during a lavish pool party, leaving numerous suspects in the picture.
But in the series finale, it was discovered that her ex Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) was actually the killer, after Rayne’s glasses with a hidden built-in camera captured the incriminating incident.

Someone else typed: ‘Well that episode was more about the murder of Hollyoaks than the murder of Rayne. I can’t see Hollyoaks surviving this year’.

In November it was announced that Emma Rigby will make a dramatic return to her role as Hannah Ashworth in the E4 soap after 13 years.
The actress, 34, played the character for five years before leaving in 2010 to pursue a series of roles in Hollywood.

During her original appearance on the show, actress Emma received praise for her performances, including a moving storyline about an eating disorder, in which she won Best Actress at the British Soap Awards in 2008.
After moving to the United States, Emma appeared in The Counselor alongside Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz in 2013, and in Endless Love with Alex Pettyfer in 2014.
She also played the role of The Red Queen in ABC’s Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, as well as Prisoners’ Wives, Ripper Street, Death In Paradise and Fresh Meat.
