I’m Britain’s most tattooed mum and I’ve been banned from Halloween parties – people say I’m too scary even without a costume
With Halloween just around the corner, many of us are getting ready to attend scary parties this weekend, but one unfortunate woman has been banned from them because of her unique body art.
Melissa Sloan, 46, from Powys, Wales, said she has never been invited to spooky themed parties to celebrate the autumn holidays because of the 800 inks spread across her body.
But this isn’t the first joyful occasion the mother of seven claims she’s been left out of. First she was excluded from her child’s Christmas play, and she is also not allowed to attend Christmas parties.
She told me Daily star: ‘People say I don’t need a costume because I’m scary enough.
‘I just don’t pay attention to it because I can’t do anything about it. I’ll just keep doing the tattoos, more tattoos.’
Melissa, who has seven children, said that since she has 800 tattoos, she has stopped being invited to spooky themed parties to celebrate Halloween.
She claimed she would love an invite one day and joked that she could buy a mask to make her look like Freddy Krueger – the disfigured killer from the film A Nightmare On Elm Street – to cover and prevent her ‘scary’ face that people are offended.
Melissa is not only excluded from social gatherings; she also hasn’t found a driving instructor willing to give her lessons.
One man almost gave her a chance, but she chased him away after their first lesson. The tattooed mother admitted that her appearance could startle strangers at first glance.
Adding to her misery, Melissa has been unemployed for twenty years as a result of her extreme body art.
One reason why employers may be put off is a reference to the infamous Kray twins who terrorized the East End of London.
However, the tattoo fanatic wants to prove people’s assumptions about her wrong – by becoming a lawyer.
But although she can’t find a job, she is keen to try to have an eighth child with her partner Luke to complete her already large family.

She admitted that before she decided to get pregnant again, she had not had sex for three years.
However, it is now back on the agenda as her children kept pestering her for another sibling.
Pregnancy at age 46 would pose health risks, but Melissa is optimistic there will be no complications.
Melissa, who got her first tattoo in her 20s, acknowledged that her newborn baby will never see her real face, which is completely covered in ink.
She revealed the motivation behind her extensive body art, saying it was her way of hiding the “emotional scars” of sexual abuse at the hands of her pedophile brother.
