Instagram influencer Elena Larrea dies at age 30 from a blood clot after liposuction
AN Instagram influencer has died unexpectedly from a blood clot after undergoing a liposuction procedure.
Elena Larrea, 30, tragically died on Tuesday from a pulmonary embolism after going under the knife just days earlier.

Elena’s family confirmed on social media that she died due to a pulmonary thrombosis – a phenomenon in which a clot travels from the legs to the lungs.
It is still unclear what exactly caused the blood clot to form, but it is claimed that her death was the result of liposuction surgery.
The influencer was known for her animal activism, after founding the Cuacolandia horse sanctuary seven years ago.
She worked to rescue horses, donkeys, mules and other equines that had been abused or abandoned.
Elena helped change the legislature in her state to classify bestiality as a crime.
The star even joined in Fans only to prevent the shelter in Atlixco – southeast of Mexico City – from going bankrupt.
She explained at the time that she was experiencing financial difficulties after Covid-19 pandemic and turned to the adult platform to keep the sanctuary from closing.
Elena said, “I was already considering closing the shelter and starting a search houses for the horses.
“Friends started saying to me, ‘You should open an OnlyFans, what if it goes well for you?’
“While I was in a crisis, I said, ‘Look, I’m going to open one and see if it catches on’.”
The venture turned out to be successful and with the financial gain the influencer was able to save the shrine from destruction.
Today Cuacolandia is home to almost 50 animals and has saved 312 horses from abuse and neglect.
State Governor Sergio Salomon has paid a heartwarming tribute to the late activist, recognizing the incredible impact of her efforts.
He said: “I deeply regret the death of Elena Larrea, a tireless fighter in defense of animal welfare.
“The rescue of thousands of abused horses is a testament to her life and work.
“On behalf of the Government of Puebla, we would like to express our solidarity with her family and friends.
“With the Ministry of the Environment we can guarantee the protection of the animals in Cuacolandia.
“We will provide all necessary assistance so that other horses are cared for by the authorities, as well as those that have already been rescued, with their welfare being paramount at all times.
“We will follow your example. Rest in peace, Elena.”
Before her death, Elena said: “I have always loved horses very much, I have been riding horses since I was a little girl.
“Growing up, I had the opportunity to give back to the horses after everything they had given me, so I decided to open the Cuacolandia sanctuary.”
It is not known whether the police are investigating the cause of death.
