The freezing -52 explosion left a commuter trapped in the ice after riding his bike home from work for almost an hour in freezing rain.

Harrowing images show how the falling temperatures killed thousands of people birds freezing to death in a lake in Xinjiang.

Another fragment shows a pack of wolves trying to tunnel through the thick layer snow in the same area.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man was forced to travel a distance of ten kilometers through Linyi on his bicycle China‘s eastern province of Shandong, after serious winter storms paralyzed public transport.

As he makes his way through the rain and snow weather for almost an hour his clothes were frozen.

Footage taken by his wife as he arrived home shows her and their son poking at the thin ice covering his jacket and pants.

She said: “I feel sorry for him more than anything; to deserve money supporting the family is not easy.”

Heavy snow has disrupted travel in many parts of the country Chinaforcing authorities to close highways and cancel classes after the Chinese New Year holidays.

The National Meteorological Center (NMC) issued an orange alert on Wednesday, the highest in the country’s three-tier system, as temperatures fell in the south.

The NMC also called on local governments “for necessary measures to protect crops and aquatic products.”

The staggering cold wave broke the record of -51.5°C set on January 21, 1960.

Freezing rain and snow are expected to last until February 26, local media reported.

The worst affected areas are expected to be parts of Inner Mongolia, in the northeast Chinathe central province of Hubei and Hunan in the south.

More dramatic images show a river of hail blocking traffic and nearly dragging vehicles across the road.

The video shows several cars being swept through Qingtian city China‘s eastern province of Zhejiang.

After the hailstorm, emergency services rushed to the scene to help stranded passers-by and motorists and clear rubble from the flooded streets.

Chinese media revealed that the storm caused extensive damage to vehicles and infrastructure, making roads impassable and disrupting traffic for hours.

A local resident said: “The roads have turned into conveyor belts.”

Authorities issued warnings urging residents to stay indoors while clean-up efforts took place in the aftermath of the event.

The videos sparked a lot of reactions after they were shared China‘s version of TikTokDouyin, later that evening.

One said: “Am I blinded? Why are the car and the ice on the road moving?”

Someone asked, “Is there something wrong with my eyes? Why is the road moving?”

And another added: “Why is it flowing?”
