A anonymously a man has broken the internet after revealing he had fallen in love with his cousin – and their chemistry ‘is off the chart’.

Instead of keeping his troubles to himself, the heartbroken man decided to confess his feelings on Reddit earlier this year.
In the ‘Off my chest’ forum, the 35-year-old man revealed that he fell in love with his relative after she moved closer in 2023.
As he has spent more time with his 34-year-old cousin, they have grown closer – with boundaries becoming increasingly blurred.
He wrote: ‘I think we are falling for each other. If we weren’t related, I’m sure we would have sex by this time. The sexual tension is off the charts.”
This wasn’t helped by the fact that as children we were virtually strangers, growing up in different countries and rarely seeing each other.
“We hung out once a year when she and her family came to visit. We were close but drifted apart in our late teens,” he explained, adding: “We discovered we had less in common and didn’t keep in touch.”
But as adults, the pair now live just an hour away from each other and have an extremely close friendship as a result.
“We are of course both single and have had several relationships, but have not yet found the one. [Then] we started hanging out again and discovered we have so much in common,” the Redditor lamented.
Although their relationship is purely platonic, the cousins are now spending more and more time together, increasing the tension between them.
“We didn’t say anything to each other or act on feelings,” the heartbroken man insisted, although he admitted he had ‘fantasized’ about having sex with his relative.
The twisted story ended with the man writing, “I wish we weren’t related, it would be so much easier. But the truth is, we are.
“And I have to find a way to stop this before it gets out of hand.”
Understandably, the internet was not happy with his very candid confession, with the post receiving hundreds of comments – despite being less than two months old.
“This guy is delusional,” wrote one angry Redditor, while another added: “The amount of men who confuse friendliness with flirting/interest is so damn sad.”
Others decided to make light of the twisted love story, with a third joking: “You have so much in common! For example, when you say grandma, you mean the same person! Don’t do it, buddy.”
But despite the relentless ridicule, some were eager to offer the anonymous man a much-needed alternative viewpoint.
“Are you sure she feels the same way?” Are you just talking about your feelings here?’ asked another user, adding, “She might think she’s getting close to a relative in a country where she might not have many friends?”
We wonder how inconvenient next one Christmas will be after this heartfelt confession.
