But hopefully to put an end to the argument, Heinz has revealed that the spice should be kept in the fridge – but many fans aren’t convinced.

On Twitter, the food giant said yesterday: “FYI: ketchup. go. in the. refrigerator!!!’.

Hundreds of fans replied saying they are keeping it in the closet and won’t change their method.
