MaKayla Thomas (@makayla_thomas_fit) is a nutrition specialist who has proven that your meals don't have to be boring to be healthy.

She shared her idea for a high-protein, low-carb dinner that helped her lose 50 pounds after giving birth — and it's delicious.

To make the chicken fajita nacho bowl, as she calls it in the kitchen clampStart by toasting both sides of a low-carb tortilla.

Then press it into an ovenproof bowl and bake at 350 degrees for five to eight minutes so that it retains the shape of the bowl once it's done.

While that cools, start making your filling.

Cut 120 grams of chicken into strips and fry them in the air together with the vegetables of your choice – she chose onions and peppers.

To ensure the fillings were full of flavor, she topped them with her homemade spice combination, consisting of ¼ teaspoon of garlic, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt and pepper.

Once you've cooked them at 400 degrees for about nine minutes, turning and shaking them halfway through, they're ready to go into the tortilla bowl, along with shredded lettuce.

Top it off with two tablespoons of queso dip – a treat that she says is “fine” to eat in moderation, despite many thinking it is unhealthy.

“The macros are so delicious, you can easily eat two if you want,” she said, noting that it contains 248 calories, 6 net carbs and 34 grams of protein.

“These turn out perfect every time and are so customizable.”

Viewers welcomed the idea.

“I like it when you say, 'It's fine,' so the purists don't come and get you in the comments about a little flavor,” one person wrote, with MaKayla agreeing: “Two tablespoons can literally drive me crazy . .”

Another said her recipes worked their magic: “These really help me a lot.”
