Season ticket scandal

Man Utd legend Norman Whiteside is among the Man Utd season ticket holders affected by the news of their move.

Now the club has released a statement.

“We have the utmost respect for Norman as a legend of the club and understand the disappointment caused to him and other season ticket holders by seat changes,” the statement said.

“There are a number of reasons why this is happening, including the move of catering seats on matchdays to consolidated blocks next season to address fans' concerns about their spread throughout the stadium.

“Other changes next season include the removal of hospitality seats from the Stretford End and the installation of additional track seating in the North West Quadrant, which will benefit many fans but will also cause some disruption.”

Man Utd will compete with Juventus for a £51million Atalanta star

Juventus fear Man Utd will show interest in Serie A midfielder Teum Koopmeiners, according to reports in Italy.

Tuttosport report that Koopmeiners is valued by Atalanta at £51m, with Man Utd buying Rasmus Hojlund and Amad Diallo in recent seasons.

The Dutchman can operate in central midfield and has even been known to play as a central defender.

He was previously described as 'sensational' by Sky Sports' Dougie Critchley.

Koopmeiners, 25, could be a cheaper alternative to Frenkie de Jong if Man Utd enter the market for a new midfielder this summer.

Exclusive: Manager who beat Mourinho and Man Utd to crown Europe and land a new job

Europa League winner Jose Luis Mendilibar will take over as Olympiacos' new manager.

Mendilibar helped Sevilla avoid relegation when he was appointed as Jorge Sampaoli's replacement at the end of last season in March.

And the Basque tactician led the Spanish giants to a record seventh Europa League title, qualifying for this season's Champions League.

This represents a huge appointment for Olympiacos, amid a turbulent campaign that has seen the Piraeus team slip to fourth place.

SunSport understands Mendilibar will sign a contract until the end of the season with the option to extend for a further year.

Sources also report that the former Athletic Bilbao manager's deal is worth €1.5 million.

Mourinho hints at next job after Man Utd's unfinished business report

Jose Mourinho has admitted that coaching Lionel Messi would be an “honour”.

The 61-year-old has managed Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and, most recently, Roma.

Mourinho has spent his entire coaching career in Europe and has crossed paths with Messi on several occasions.

However, he does not yet have an eight-time Ballon d'Or winner in any of his teams.

And, in one interview with football influencer Ohm on YouTube, 'the Special One' admitted he wished he could have worked with Messi.

When asked which player he would have liked to coach, Mourinho replied: “An example is Messi, he doesn't need to be coached. Who can say: 'I was Messi's coach.'”

Bruce backs Man Utd to beat Aston Villa

Steve Bruce has backed Man Utd to beat Aston Villa tomorrow.

Bruce, speaking to BoyleSports who offer the latest Betting on the Premier Leaguesaid: “Man Utd have some form and it is no coincidence that some of the big players are back, especially defensively, even if it looks like [Lisandro] Martinez has suffered another injury.

'But suddenly [Raphael] Varane is fit, Luke Shaw is fit and Harry Maguire is fit. I think they have been badly affected by the loss of key defensive players.

“You can have all the flair you want in the future and Man Utd will always have players in the forward areas who will excite you.

“[Bruno] Fernandes, [Rasmus] Hojlund, [Alejandro] Garnacho and [Marcus] Rashford is such a threat. But what Man Utd have toiled for is the loss of key players at the back.

“Casemiro, for starters, who has had a great start to his career, has been out for months. Shaw has been out too, but at least now they have a bit of stability and are looking a bit more like themselves.”
