MANCHESTER UNITED stars were out in force for a team bonding dinner this evening.
The meal was attended by both first-team players and staff as the side looked ahead to their crucial FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.
That saw the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford competing with Erik ten Hag, Steve McLaren and Darren Fletcher in the style stakes.
The team visited the chic Ivy Asia restaurant in Manchester, where a Wagyu steak set punters back £62.
Sunday’s match with Liverpool represents the club’s last possible chance to achieve victory this season and will be key in dictating Erik ten Hag’s future.
They currently sit sixth in the Premier League, eight points behind fourth-placed Villa, as their Champions League hopes continue to dim.
After the 3-1 defeat to City this month, Ten Hag has made peace with the team’s faltering top four position, saying: ‘It could be an advantage that fifth place can also be a Champions League spot, so we We have to go for it and win our games.”
A difficult start to the season saw United finish bottom of the Champions League group and exit the Carabao Cup to Newcastle.
And Sir Jim Ratcliffe barely backed Ten Hag during his first media interview since investing in the club.
When asked about the manager’s future, Ratcliffe said: “I’m not going to comment on the job he’s done because that would be inappropriate.

“You can’t blame all the coaches. The only conclusion is that the environment they worked in was not working.
“Erik has been in that environment and what we have to do is ensure that the environment, the organization and the people in the structure are right.
“We have to do that piece, so I’m not really focused on the coach, but on getting that piece right. It is not for me to judge that.
“But we’ve made some pretty tough decisions in our time in business. We’ll just think about it logically, assess the facts and make an honest judgment.
“We are actually not a ruthless organization. But sometimes you have to make decisions, which may not be popular.”
However, United achieved a positive result last time in the competition, winning 2-0 against Everton.
They also did decently the last time they played Liverpool, holding the Merseyside club to a 0-0 draw last December.
They hope to take inspiration from that as they look to book a place in the semi-finals at Wembley.
