Prince William made an impassioned plea to end wildlife crime in a video campaign during his Earthshot trip to Singapore. Fans have compared the royal family to his late mother, Princess Diana.

The Prince of Wales, 41, shared a moving clip on social media Instagramhighlighting the work of the United for Wildlife Global Summit, which he is attending.

“For nearly a decade, United for Wildlife has worked to disrupt the illegal wildlife trade by making it impossible for traffickers to transport, finance or profit from illegal wildlife products,” he told an audience.

“This is a battle that can and must be won.”

The video, shared on his social media account with the Princess of Wales, has already racked up more than three thousand likes.

“Collaboration is so important in our fight to #EndWildlifeCrime and that’s why the @unitedforwildlife Global Summit is here in Southeast Asia, one of the regions in the world most affected by sustainability challenges,” the caption read.

‘From our changing climate to the threats nature faces from the scourge of the illegal wildlife trade.

“Singapore is a hub for innovators, entrepreneurs, community leaders and problem solvers committed to rebuilding our planet.”

The poignant clip impressed fans in the comments, some of whom compared William to Diana, who was known for her charitable efforts.

“William looks so much like Diana when he speaks,” one person wrote.

“I wish his mother could see him,” a second added.

Others noted that the royal family “will be a great king” and are “doing a great job.”

Earlier today, William announced that his wife has not come to Singapore because she is helping Prince George with his ‘first set of major exams’.

The Princess of Wales, 41, has remained at home in Windsor while William headed to South East Asia to present his environmental award.

During a United for Wildlife speech, the future king apologized for his wife’s absence.

‘I’m happy to be back in Singapore. It has been eleven years since Catherine and I visited here on behalf of my late grandmother for her Diamond Jubilee year,” he explained.

“I just have to say that Catherine is very sorry she can’t be there, she’s helping George through his first set of big exams.”

Kate, who has attended the previous two Earthshot awards in Boston and London, is helping her 10-year-old son revise for his upcoming entrance exams.

Last month, the Princess of Wales revealed she is helping George with practice exams.

Kate spoke to students preparing for their A-level exams at Fitzalan High School in Cardiff, as part of a visit to Wales to mark the start of Black History Month.

George, who is in Year 6 at Lambrook School in Berkshire, is preparing for his secondary school entrance exams this year.

After discussing George’s early experiences with exams, she commented: ‘But when A-levels are reached you feel like you’re doing it.’

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have joined the co-educational private school near Ascot in Berkshire, after the Wales moved to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor’s Home Park.

William and Kate have set their sights on the outdoor preparatory school with its 22-acre grounds for their children, where fees will cost them more than £50,000 a year and students will have ‘flying feathers’ and a ‘wonderful sense of freedom ‘ to get.

Robert Irwin, son of the late Australian conservationist Steve Irwin, will join a host of stars including Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, producer Donnie Yen and actors Lana Condor and Nomzamo Mbatha who will announce the winners at Tuesday’s ceremony.

It has now been announced that Emmy Award-winning actor and producer Sterling K Brown will co-host the awards with Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham.

Bebe Rexha will perform, award-winning director and producer Donnie Yen will announce one of the five winners and Earthshot Prize Council member Sir David Attenborough will appear in a video during the broadcast.
