A SEASIDE hotel that used to house migrants was closed yesterday after a brutal brawl left five people in hospital.

Three students from Bournemouth and Poole College were among those taken to hospital.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

The battle is said to have taken place between rival groups of Afghans and Eastern Europeans.

Police were later seen at the nearby Roundhouse Hotel, where there are houses migrants at taxpayer expense.

One student, who asked not to be identified, said: “There are Afghan and Romanian gangs at the university and they hate each other.

“A few weeks ago there was an argument and they said, 'This isn't over yet' – and it all started again.

“Two of them pulled out machetes and we believe two people were stabbed.

“An hour before this happened, we did a survey at the university about whether we feel safe.”

According to the police, the two men are both 24 years old a 17 year old girl was arrested on suspicion of intentional wounding.
