THIS is the shocking moment a £35,000 BMW with a beloved dog in the back was stolen by criminals – before the elderly victim was hit with her own car.
A Ring doorbell camera captured the thief lurking outside the pensioner's home in Bexleyheath, south east London yesterday morning.
He lay in wait as the woman parked in her driveway and went inside, leaving the driver's side door open and the engine still running.
The thief then got out of his VW Golf and jumped into the BMW X1.
He then backed out of the driveway and hit the woman as she and her son ran outside to stop him.
The injured OAP realized that her pug Daisy was still sitting in the back of the X1, a model worth £34,935 when new.
The woman's daughter-in-law struck the cruel thief in one blow Facebook after.
She said: “If you know this man, please let us know. Car stolen from the driveway with the pug inside.
“He knocked over my mother-in-law and my husband when they tried to stop the car.
“It's hard to watch.”
Police The woman was taken to hospital, but her injuries were not life-threatening.
Scotland Wharf added: “An investigation is underway following this shocking incident.
“The dog was fortunately found safe and sound a short time later by a member of the public in Wickham Street, Welling.”
