Sister Wives’ Kody Brown hopes to overcome tensions between Gabe and the Garrison

Kody Brown revealed during the latter Sister women episode that he is hopeful that he can mend his relationship with sons Gabriel And Garrison Brown.

“I haven’t been in touch with Gabriel and Garrison in a while,” Kody, 54, admitted during the Sunday, Nov. 5 episode of the TLC series, while talking about his and Janelle Brown‘s children. “I’m pretty sad that I’m not close anymore.”

The patriarch explained, “There were so many things in our lives that we did together that were rich, you know, just special experiences. I think and hope that in time we will get over this [and] it will be safe to be together again.

However, Kody claimed he is on a standstill with Garrison, 25, and Gabriel, 21, following their fallout from COVID-19. “Right now there’s not really an open door for Gabe and Garrison,” he said, claiming, “They’re not willing to participate [with] me.”

Last season, viewers saw Kody’s relationship with Gabriel and Garrison begin to crumble after he claimed the boys were disrespectful to him and his fourth wife. Robin Brown due to Kody’s strict COVID-19 rules.

At the time, Kody insisted that the children apologize for their actions, which led to an even greater rift in the family. As a result, Janelle, 54, and her six children spent the 2021 holidays away from Kody and Robyn, 45.

Kody shares alongside Gabriel and Garrison Logan29, Maddy27, Hunter26, and Savannah, 18, with his estranged second wife Janelle. (Janelle announced in December 2022 that she and Kody had been “separated” for months after nearly three decades of spiritual marriage.)

As season 18 began, it became clear that the tension between Janelle and Kody over their sons had not been resolved.

“I worry about my boys’ mental health,” Janelle shared during the Oct. 8 episode, which was taped in early 2022. “Gabriel feels everything very, very deeply. But he is also the child who says nothing. And Garrison just seems angrier or sadder, like he’s not as happy as he used to be.

Gabriel also commented on the nature of his relationship with his father in the episode, saying, “Me and Garrison are at odds with my dad because when we expressed our dissatisfaction with how things were going with COVID, I just hit a wall. . Like and there was no dialogue. I think that’s what’s driving the wedge between us.”

Although Kody’s dynamic with Gabriel and Garrison had not improved by the summer of 2022, when Sunday’s episode was filmed, he had repaired his relationship with Savanah.

“Kody made an effort with Savanah,” Janelle said during a confessional in the new episode. “He definitely sees her more often than he did at the beginning of the year.” Kody, meanwhile, called his dynamic with their youngest child “sweet” and “gentle.”

In addition to his divorce from Janelle, Kody divorced his third wife Christine Brown in November 2021. His first wife, Meri Brown, confirmed in January that they were no longer romantically involved. Kody is still legally married to Robyn.
