Outback Wrangler Matt Wright is accused of trying to hide part of his multi-million dollar fortune from the widow who is suing over the death of her husband, who was Wright’s TV sidekick.

Father-of-two Chris ‘Willow’ Wilson died in a helicopter crash at King River in the Northern Territory while on a crocodile egg collecting trip on February 28, 2022.

The devastating accident left pilot Sebastian Robinson paralyzed and Wright is facing criminal charges in connection with the tragedy.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) determined that the helicopter likely ran out of fuel and that Wilson died in a fatal fall when the harness he was hanging from under the aircraft came loose.

The ATSB report criticized the safety management system of helicopter company Helibrook, which is run by Wright, and the risk management of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

Mr Wilson’s widow, Danielle, is now suing Helibrook and CASA and a hearing was held at the Federal Court in Sydney on Friday to determine whether Wright should be added personally to the claim and his significant assets frozen.

Ms Wilson’s legal team argued that Wright’s interest in his Tiwi Island Retreat, a ‘glamping’ resort off the NT coast, had been transferred to a trust since the incident and that more of his assets were beyond the reach of any court order could be placed in Mrs. Wilson’s home. favor.

Tiwi Island Retreat, located on Bathurst Island northwest of Darwin, bills itself as an ‘unparalleled wilderness experience’ where interstate and international guests have the choice of staying in beachfront villas and luxury ‘glamping’ tents.

As well as a range of leisure facilities and tours, there is a restaurant and bar serving dishes ‘accented by Asian spices and bush tucker’ and featuring a fireplace and smoker where guests are encouraged to help prepare their own seafood.

Helibrook and Mr Wright’s lawyer, Darryn Kelly, argued that his client’s transfer of his interest in Tiwi Island Retreat was ‘business as usual’ and that extensive research of ASIC documents found no other example of similar transfers.

He argued that Ms Wilson’s team needed to establish that there was a deliberate and “sinister” attempt by Mr Wright to hide assets, which was not the case.

“Otherwise we would have this in every case, in fact” “I’m going to sue you, so you should now be required to show proof of your assets and convince me that you won’t do anything with them,” said Mr. Kelly said.

Mr Wright transferred his interest in Tiwi Island Retreat (pictured) off the coast of Darwin to a trust which the legal team of Mr Wilson's widow argued was an attempt to 'frustrate the court'.

Judge Elizabeth Raper sided with Kelly and refused the order to freeze Wright’s assets, saying there was limited evidence that he had tried to “frustrate” any possible judgment.

“I am not satisfied that sufficient evidence has been presented to me as a result of this turn of events to issue this order,” she said.

She also noted that the transfer of the interest in Tiwi Island Retreat took place well before Mr Wright was aware of Ms Wilson’s civil case, which she filed late last year.

The issue of whether Mr Wright should be personally added as a party to the claim has been adjourned and will appear in court on April 10.

Mr Kelly told the court his client had no legal duty of care to Mr Wilson, because he was the helicopter’s owner or for any other reason.

“There was no relationship between the men that created a duty of care,” he said.

Mr Kelly likened the helicopter in question to owning a motor vehicle, which he said does not create a duty of care in relation to its use.

Ms Wilson is seeking costs, damages, interest, interest on costs and “any other order the court considers appropriate” for the psychological harm caused by the alleged conduct.

“(She) has suffered nervous shock and/or psychiatric damage and loss of maintenance and support from Mr. Wilson over the course of his life,” her court filing said.

The helicopter’s pilot, Sebastian Robinson, was seriously injured in the crash but survived.

An Australian Transport Safety Bureau investigation found that the helicopter’s engine stopped mid-flight due to a lack of fuel.

During the subsequent emergency landing, Mr Robinson released the helicopter’s hooks and lanyard before it crashed to the ground.

Wright and his aviation company Helibrook are facing a series of criminal and civil charges in the Northern Territory over the fatal crash.

His friend, respected NT pilot Michael Burbidge, was first on the scene of the crash before he was joined by Wright and former senior police officer Neil Mellon.

The three men were all later charged with perverting the course of justice and destroying evidence.

Burbidge later pleaded guilty to destroying Wilson’s mobile phone, while Wright will stand trial in the NT Supreme Court for breach of process.

A further six charges, including tampering with evidence and threatening Mr Robinson, have yet to be heard, but Wright denies all allegations of wrongdoing.

IF you want to take your Easter decor to the next level without shelling out a lot of dough, it’s time to jump on it.

One DIYer’s festive project was the perfect addition to any indoor or outdoor space.

A DIY expert created the Easter decor of her dreams with the help of Dollar Tree dealsCredit: TikTok/thecraftedstudioco

Emma Villaneda (@thecraftedstudioco) made a two-foot tall Easter Bunny out of moss and other money-saving finds from the Dollar Tree.

She started her project by visiting the store’s party section, where she picked up two large and two medium bowls with wavy details.

She then found some floral foam before moving on to the hair section.

Instead of settling for simple ribbons, her decor called for two scrunchies with bows.

After all, just because she had a limited budget didn’t mean her rabbit couldn’t be a spark plug.

Some moss and a bunny face mask with ears were also needed.

When you get home, you can put your DIY skills to the test by adding some E600 and hot glue to the rim of the large bowls and then gluing them together.

This process is then repeated with the medium-sized bowls before gluing them onto the larger bowls – and just like that, your rabbit’s body is complete.

I made beautiful Easter baskets for my children using Home Bargains purchases – the basket cost £2.50 which wasn’t the best deal

If you can’t find domed foam, you can simply round off your cube-shaped variety and glue it to the very top.

Emma then removed the ears from her bunny mask and glued them into her floral foam.

Her bunny was also about to get a major moss-covered makeover once she got her hands on a hot glue gun.

Not one to take risks, she sprayed her bunny with hairspray to keep the moss in place before using the scrunchies as a bow tie.

She seemed more than pleased with her ‘cute’ creation which was ideal for both ‘indoor and outdoor decoration’.

To keep your rabbit from jumping (or blowing away) when you want to put him outside, she suggested putting a weight in the large bowls.

Her fellow DIYers were also impressed with how the project came together – and some even had their own tips.

“I love it! You can also spray paint it a pastel color if you don’t like green. So creative!” said one follower.

“What a great idea! It would be so cute in pastel colors,” she replied.

“I never thought of just looking for hairpieces with ribbon sections. That’s a great idea and they have really nice hairpieces. Thank you,” said a third onlooker.

Her tip was both easy and environmentally friendly.

Sarah Teresinksi (@redeux_style) was already addicted to her hacking which allows her to ‘upcycle’ a common household item.

All it took to give her backyard an instant upgrade were some hooks that normally fit on the back of closet doors, which she then placed on her fence.

This time, however, the hooks were used to hold baskets plants instead of blouses.

And the more hooks you have, the better, because you can load even more baskets on them.

Her tip works for both long hooks and shorter types that tend to have more of a decorative element.

She recommended checking out Dollar Tree for inexpensive hooks that bend easily.

The money-saving store sells wall-mountable metal hooks for $1.25 — and many buyers had already found their own use for the affordable purchase.

“I love these! They are great for hanging purses and mini backpacks! But also as jewelry!” wrote one buyer.

I’m Growing Strawberries and Peppers in My Garden With a Dollar Tree Purchase — People Say It’s ‘Genius’ and ‘Such a Cute Idea’

“I am so happy with this little bracket. It is so convenient. I hung three Dollar Tree white waste bins on the wall to store and organize artificial flowers,” said another satisfied customer.

And the tips kept coming.

If you don’t have a handle on your basket, all you need is a small zip tie that attaches to your hooks. Just add flowers and your spring garden has begun.

She also had another trick up her sleeve.

It turns out that towels can also be hung on the hooks of the outdoor fence next to a swimming pool or on a sprinkler.

Although she’s also mastered hanging laundry baskets on her wrought iron zip-tie fence, you can still use the same hangers on any fence — and they work perfectly for pool storage.

Her fans were grateful for the advice and eager to try out the hooks for themselves.

“This is life changing. Thank you,” said one follower.

“I think this is a great idea! I have a privacy fence and four huskies so plants get destroyed by the dogs. Now I can hang them on the fence!” said another viewer.

“OK – this will be used by my pool this year! Thanks!” said a third audience member.

Abigail (@designingabigail) shared the home transformation in a TikTok video.

She laid out a towel and a “Hello” welcome mat and then got to work hanging Easter eggs on her pink door.

Abigail attached hooks to her shingles and hung rattan baskets full of colorful flowers.

She also ‘planted’ stuffed carrots and pastel-coloured plastic Easter bunnies in the flower boxes outside her window.

Green grass confetti added a beautiful finishing touch to the Easter garden.

Using Rust-Oleum, she spray-painted a green bucket pastel blue and filled it with paper bags to give the inside height.

She tied it around the bucket with a giant pastel ribbon and finished the display with pink filling and large stuffed Easter bunnies.

Although the final look looked elaborate and expensive, she explained that the project cost her less than $30.

“Just regular commando comics!” she replied.

The eggs were garden stakes from Dollar Tree, which I could easily remove the stick from before hanging them up.”

Others were impressed with her creative and affordable holiday project.

“Very cute!” said one admirer.

President Biden will give Intel a multibillion-dollar award on Wednesday to expand its chip production in the United States, people familiar with the decision said, as the president defends his economic policies during a tour of the Southwest.

The announcement in Phoenix, Arizona, is a major distinction from Mr. Biden’s $39 billion CHIPS and Science Act, which aims to build the U.S. semiconductor industry and reduce dependence on technology from East Asia.

Mr. Biden has made expanding production of chips, used in a variety of technologies, a central focus of both efforts to compete with China and boost domestic manufacturing.

White House officials have provided few details about the award for Intel, but an official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the grant said it would be the first for several chip makers, including Samsung, Micron and the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.

The White House hopes to accelerate the implementation of its semiconductor investments, but some companies have encountered obstacles. TSMC postponed initial production at its first plant in Arizona from this year until 2025 because local workers lacked expertise in installing advanced equipment.

Biden administration officials have also emphasized the need to ramp up apprenticeship programs to prepare a workforce that can fill factories in places like Arizona or Texas.

The money is hugely important to Intel and Patrick Gelsinger, who returned as CEO of the company three years ago and took on the dual mission of restoring Intel’s technological lead in manufacturing and America’s position in global chip manufacturing.

The company’s microprocessor chips, which provide computing power to most of the world’s computers, are regularly improved by advances at Intel factories in shrinking transistors to pack more of those tiny switches onto every piece of silicon. But Intel has stumbled over the past decade in delivering new generations of manufacturing technology, allowing TSMC and Samsung to build more advanced chips.

Mr. Gelsinger responded with an ambitious plan to introduce five new manufacturing processes in four years, along with a radical change in Intel’s business model. The company, which for decades has dedicated its factories to producing the chips it designs and sells, now competes with TSMC and Samsung in the so-called foundry sector of manufacturing chips designed by others.

He also initiated a costly expansion campaign with new or upgraded factories in Arizona, Ohio, New Mexico, Ireland, Israel and Germany. Mr. Gelsinger, perhaps the industry’s most outspoken supporter of the CHIPS law, did not wait for money from the Commerce Department before starting those construction projects.

But he seemed impatient with the speed at which the department was doling out grants, an effort that required complicated negotiations between companies and new specialists the government has hired.

“We have not announced our CHIPS grant yet,” Mr. Gelsinger said, speaking at a company event in February alongside Gina Raimondo, the Commerce Secretary, who attended by video link. “Yes, very soon, right?” he asked.

The company, whose business has been hit by a post-pandemic slowdown in sales of computers using its chips, has used debt financing and other tactics to help finance its expansion. But Mr. Gelsinger has made clear that he has faced pressure from Intel board members to justify spending on the new factories, which fabricate chips on silicon wafers and could cost $10 billion to $20 billion each.

Marilyn (@mmarilyn__442) shared the saving tip in a TikTok video.

“Run to Dollar Tree and try this hack,” she urged.

She rushed to the budget chain and headed into the hair accessories aisle to grab some foam rollers in blue and red.

She then picked up an acrylic storage box for $1.25 each.

At home, Marilyn threw the pack of hair rollers on her counter and got her things ready.

She removed the sticker on the acrylic housing and pulled out the wires in the foam rollers.

She then cut the rolls to the perfect size so that they fit snugly into the clear box.

After removing the threads from several rolls and cutting them to size, she arranged the pieces in alternating red and blue colors.

I live in a small house – my main organizational trick really maximizes storage space, we use it in the kitchen

Once her project was complete, she filled the box with her rings and put them on full display.

Some of her viewers came up with design ideas to further upgrade her organizer.

“You could buy a little piece of fabric to drape over and between to make it look a bit fancier,” said one commenter.

Others were convinced by her simple demonstration to run to Dollar Tree.

“I’m actually running to Dollar Tree y’all,” said one commenter.

“Going for a run today because I hate digging in a box for my rings,” another agreed.

Emma Villaneda (@thecraftedstudioco) has been viewed nearly 85,000 times on TikTok, where she shares DIY tips.

She surprised many people when she revealed the budget-friendly items she uses to maintain order in her home.

In the office section of her local Dollar Tree store, she picked up a box of index cards to use in her kitchen.

She said it’s easy to see what’s inside because the box is transparent and well stocked. They can be stacked to maximize space when storing tea bags.

The decluttering guru then admitted that she had avoided putting away her tools until she considered using medium-sized lockable clear boxes.

When she saw how useful they were, she “wished” she had done it sooner.

Emma caused a rush to the Plus section of Dollar Tree when she demonstrated a hack using large stackable bins.

She said they are “great” for pantry storage, storing children’s toys and linen closets.

She returned to the office section of the store, where most items cost about $1.25, to purchase magnetic locker boxes.

The devices can be attached to the front of the refrigerator for storing small necessities such as markers or straws.

Finally, she recommended purchasing car hooks that can be attached to the seat in front.

Everything from hats and backpacks to water bottles can be hung on it to prevent items from being thrown on the ground.

I have a small bedroom. My 4 creative storage solutions fit more stuff, but they still look neat

“Which idea was your favorite?” she asked viewers.

More than 48,000 people liked the video and hundreds took to the comments section to answer the question.

“I wonder if two of those car hooks would make a secure holder for a tablet/iPad for travel etc. Cool hacks!” wrote one person.

“I love that index box… genius!!” said another.

“The stackable crates for the bottom of my linen cupboard. I mean, come on, why didn’t I think of that LOL.”

“Maybe I should get some of those lockers to put on the side of my fridge for reusable straws,” a third commented.

“I love the stackable bins!! I use them for shoes at the bottom of the closet,” another added.

The calendar is not Donald J. Trump’s friend.

In six days, the former president must secure bail of about half a billion dollars in his civil fraud case in New York, a possibility that was questioned Monday.

In a court filing, Mr. Trump’s lawyers revealed that he had been unable to obtain an appeal bond despite “diligent efforts,” including approaching about 30 bond companies.

While Mr. Trump managed to post a $91.6 million bond this month in his defamation case against the writer E. Jean Carroll, securing the eleventh-hour deal from a major insurance company, he does not have the resources are necessary to provide the much greater guarantee for the fraud case.

If he cannot produce the bond by March 25, Mr. Trump faces the possibility of financial disaster and humiliation. The New York attorney general, which brought the fraud case, would have the right to collect the $454 million and could try to seize Mr. Trump’s New York properties or freeze his bank accounts.

And Trump’s money problems spread far beyond New York. As the presumptive Republican nominee for president, he faces increasing pressure to raise money to finance his campaign, lagging behind his opponent, President Biden, in fundraising.

Here’s what we know about Mr. Trump’s financial troubles:

Attorney General Letitia James sued Mr. Trump last fall, accusing him of fraudulently inflating the value of his assets to obtain favorable loan terms.

Mr. Trump lost, and Judge Arthur F. Engoron imposed a judgment of $355 million plus interest, which amounts to $454 million. Although Ms. James could have collected immediately, she offered a 30-day grace period ending March 25.

Mr Trump is now on the hook for the entire ruling while he appeals. He can come up with the money himself or, more likely, obtain a bond from a company that would promise to pay if Trump were to lose his appeal and default.

For a bond of this size, Trump would have to pledge a significant amount of collateral — as much as $557 million, his lawyers said — including as much cash as possible, as well as any stocks and bonds he could quickly sell. He would also owe the bond company compensation that could amount to $20 million.

Short answer: no.

Although Trump has long bragged about his wealth, his actual financial position remains a mystery. A recent New York Times analysis found that Trump had more than $350 million in cash, but most of his remaining money was tied up in his real estate holdings.

In other words, it is not liquid enough to provide the collateral needed for a bond of this size.

And he has less cash available today than he did a week ago. Trump had to post $91.6 million bail in the defamation case he lost to E. Jean Carroll. To secure the bond, Trump most likely had to pledge more than $100 million in collateral to Chubb, the giant insurance company that provided the bond.

Mr Trump has appealed the $454 million verdict and asked a higher court in New York to suspend the sentence or accept a lower bail of $100 million. Ms. James could also give Mr. Trump additional time to pay the former president or show mercy by making a counteroffer.

He could appeal to the state’s highest court, quickly sell an asset or seek help from a wealthy supporter.

And if all else fails, as a last resort he could have the corporate entities involved in the fraud case file for bankruptcy, which would automatically halt the judgment against those entities.

But Trump is likely to object to a bankruptcy filing.

If none of these options happen before March 25, and Mr. Trump misses the deadline, Ms. James would be free to collect the money owed to the state.

Probably not.

A super PAC supporting his candidacy can raise unlimited amounts of money, but is legally prohibited from working with him and cannot pay the judgment.

And while the former president has used a political action committee under his control to pay lawyers and witnesses in his lawsuits, that group lacks the kind of money needed to pay the $454 million fine.

He is now trying to raise campaign money as he faces a significant financial gap with his election opponent, Mr. Biden. Mr. Biden’s campaign recently announced that it had entered March with $155 million in cash on hand. Although the Trump operation has not released a more recent total, there was about $40 million between his campaign account and the Republican National Committee at the end of January.

Mr Trump also has a crucial hearing in his criminal case in Manhattan, which could be the first prosecution of a former US president.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has filed charges against Mr. Trump, accusing him of covering up a sex scandal involving a porn star to boost his 2016 presidential campaign. The case is now being taken to court.

Jury selection was originally scheduled to begin on March 25, but the trial was postponed late last week following the disclosure of more than 100,000 pages of documents in the possession of federal prosecutors.

Although the documents have now been turned over, the trial was postponed until mid-April to give Trump’s lawyers time to review the papers.

Judge Juan M. Merchan has scheduled the hearing for March 25 to determine whether the trial should be further postponed and to rule on Trump’s motion for an outright dismissal.

The Manhattan case is one of four criminal charges Trump faces.

Stacey (@sky_laporte) shared the gardening trick in a TikTok video.

She created the lots with $1.25 laundry baskets at the Dollar Tree.

Stacey lined the flexible rubber baskets with shade cloth to keep soil from falling out.

Once all sides of the basket were surrounded with fabric, she filled it with mulch and potting soil.

Then she grabbed strawberry starters and placed them in the mulch.

As the baby roots poked out, she surrounded the plants with more mulch.

In another basket, she placed more baby starters for two baskets of portable plots.

Expert gardeners explained that the portable hack was useful and often life-saving.

One woman’s backyard transformation proves controversial, but she says she achieved her dream of never having to mow again

“And you can move them! I had to put my plants on the table to define an area,” said one commenter.

“Groundhog thought he was in an all-inclusive.”

“What a cute and colorful idea. Love will add something to my garden,” said one commenter.

“Genius omg wow,” a third agreed.

Stacey received some criticism from viewers who didn’t see the need for the basket hack, but explained why it was necessary.

“I’ve never understood why people hoard their strawberries when they give you so much by multiplying themselves over the years while they’re in the ground,” said one critic.

“My love, this isn’t for you, it’s for space-poor people like me,” she explained.

The state of Kansas will pay $1 million to settle a lawsuit over the death of Adrian Jones, who was murdered by his father and fed to pigs.

The lawsuit, filed in 2017 by the child’s mother and relatives, said the state child protection agency took him from an abusive home before starving and torturing him.

Police found the 7-year-old’s remains in a pigsty on the property of his father and stepmother Michael and Heather Jones in November 2015.

Both are serving 25 years to life sentences for his murder, after beating Adrian and locking him in a shower stall and watching him deteriorate on surveillance camera.

Gov. Laura Kelly and top leaders of the Kansas Legislature approved the settlement Tuesday during a brief public meeting.

Michael and Heather Jones are serving a prison sentence of 25 years to life for his murder, after beating Adrian and locking him in a shower stall and watching him deteriorate on surveillance camera.

The Kansas Department for Children and Families received reports that Adrian was being abused several years before his death.

Their last physical contact with him was nearly four years before his death, according to more than 2,000 pages of documents released by the agency in 2017.

The records showed that all three moved regularly between communities in Kansas and Missouri.

The lawsuit argued that the state and social workers “could have intervened at any time and saved Adrian,” but “chose to act as disinterested bystanders.”

The Kansas agency argued that frequent moves made it difficult to monitor the boy.

Senate Minority Leader Dinah Sykes, one of the lawmakers who approved the settlement, said she believes the state bears “a lot of responsibility” for what happened.

Kelly said the problem wasn’t the potential harm in a lawsuit, but the lawsuit distracting from “the mission at hand” to improve the child welfare system.

“It really had to do with us wanting to get that settled and not spend time litigating in court for months, maybe even years,” she said.

Matt Birch, a lawyer representing the family, said: “This has been a long journey for Adrian’s family.

“The most important thing for the family was to hopefully make a change and make sure this is less likely to happen in the future.”

Police had responded to the home in 2015 for a domestic violence call, with Heather Jones accusing Michael Jones of beating and choking her.

Once there, she blurted out that the boy’s father had fed him to their six feeder pigs two months earlier, in late September.

The investigation into her claims revealed harrowing evidence of years of abuse with Heather, sickeningly proud of the way she tortured her stepson and captured it in photographs.

He was locked behind a plywood door in a shower, forced to stand in standing water up to his neck for hours, chained, tied up, starved and beaten.

His stepmother called him “the boy” instead of using his first name. While she and Adrian’s father cared for their six girls, he was accused of abuse of the worst kind.

The injuries photographed included deep cuts to his face and lips, suffered while trying to fight his way out of the cardboard cell his parents had created for him in a shower stall.

He was also photographed with a cutting board tube taped to his chest and strapped to an inversion table.

The pair were arrested in 2015. Heather pleaded guilty to murder in November 2016 and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years.

In May 2017, Michael Jones received the same sentence after also pleading guilty in March that year.

In 2013, Adrian told a staff member at the Children’s Department in Missouri, where the family lived at the time, that his father kept hitting him in the head.

“My dad keeps hitting me on the head and punching me in the stomach and my mom keeps pulling on my ears and it really hurts.

‘Mom and dad lock me in my room alone. Mommy and daddy can’t feed me,” he said during the interview, which was promoted by an anonymous phone call raising concerns about Adrian’s well-being.

Shockingly, he was allowed to continue living with the couple and shortly thereafter they moved to Kansas City, Kansas.

When he died, Adrian was a little bag of bones and his last months were hell.

The boy’s death was followed by a multi-year overhaul of child welfare system laws.

In 2021, “Adrian’s Law” required officers and case workers to visually observe children suspected of being victims of abuse or neglect.

The state has also taken steps to improve training for doctors to recognize abuse and provide “wraparound” services to struggling families.

Birch said he and the family hope that with the lawsuit and the 2021 law, “more eyes will be on these children.”

Adrian’s relatives also filed a lawsuit in 2017 in Jackson County, Missouri, also in the Kansas City area, against officials in that state.

The case was settled in 2020, but details were not immediately available and Birch said he could not comment.
