Take That’s Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen were seen on set Friday while filming in East London.

It’s been a busy week for the band who returned to the stage at the BST Hyde Park Festival last weekend after Howard was fired from Groovebox’s Nottingham Pride.

The 55-year-old singer was removed from the lineup after liking a series of transphobic and homophobic tweets.

Arriving on set, Gary, Howard and Mark looked stylish in casual ensembles despite looking tired.

52-year-old Gary opted for a red and white striped T-shirt that he combined with neat black trousers and white sneakers.

It comes after Howard said he was “disappointed” with himself in a fawning apology after liking the transphobic and homophobic tweets.

The musician is set to headline the LGBTIQA festival, Groovebox, this month alongside artists such as Horse Meat Disco, Essel and Sam Sax.

Howard’s performance at the event was condemned by fans who took notice of his recent online activity – his Twitter account has since been deleted following the backlash.

Groovebox Nottingham Pride bosses announced the news in a statement: ‘In light of recent events, Howard Donald will no longer be playing at our Nottingham Pride Festival on Saturday 29th July at Binks Yard.

“We would like to thank the public for alerting us to the situation this morning and also appreciate your patience as we spoke to the relevant parties.”

They continued: “The Groovebox team stands in solidarity with the wider LGBTQ+ community, we believe that every person has the right to be their authentic true self without fear of persecution and hatred.

“We are working to confirm a replacement headliner alongside Horse Meat Disco, Tayce, Danny Beard & ESSEL for Nottingham Pride and will make an announcement in due course.”

A spokesperson for the official Nottinghamshire PRIDE added: ‘It has been brought to our attention that there has been some anti-LGBTQ+ endorsement by an artist at the Groovebox Pride Festival.

“This was not organized by Notts Pride. We are really concerned about this and we reject homophobia, transphobia and biphobia in our city.

We are Nottspride and we fight for our LGBTQ+ community every day. We want to make this very clear: Groovebox Pride festival has no association with Notts Pride.

“We are calling on our amazing LGBTQ+ community and allies to join us in our march for equality on 7/29/23. There is no place for hatred in Nottingham.’

Howard shared his own statement on Instagram, writing: “I made a huge mistake in my judgment about liking social media posts that are derogatory to the LGBTQIA+ community and for that I am deeply sorry and I know that I have abandoned.

“I am very disappointed in myself and I am sorry for all the pain I have caused by my unskilled actions. Obviously I still have a lot to learn and it’s a priority for me to do this.”

Before his account was deleted, Howard had liked tweets like, “Only women menstruate!” Men cannot menstruate. Transgender ‘women’ cannot menstruate PinkNews.

Howard had also liked a tweet from Turning Point UK founder Charlie Kirk calling for Disney to be fired for holding a pride concert.

Other tweets included anti-vax messages and conspiracies.
