He got off to a good start by scoring a sought-after role in Shameless, but Whitehead was soon introduced to the tougher side of the industry.

Acting roles became scarce and financial pressure increased, causing him to work in a bar for meager wages.
“I was working again for eight dollars an hour and tips. It had been a long time since I had worked for eight dollars,” he previously said.
After a period of hardship, Whitehead’s career took off when he landed a role in Agents of SHIELD, which provided some much-needed financial relief.
When he left the Seven soap in 2013, Whitehead looked set to follow in the footsteps of Margot Robbie and Chris Hemsworth as he headed to Hollywood to seek fame and fortune.
After some initial success in Hollywood, acting roles became scarce and financial pressure increased, leading him to work in a bar for meager wages.
After less than a decade in Hollywood, Whitehead returned to Australia in 2020 for a brief appearance in Neighbours.
He then starred in The Masked Singer Australia and came third in 2021 as Mullet.
Whitehead has since dabbled in musical performances, voice-over work and hosting gigs.

Whitehead recently took a break from the spotlight due to health concerns after undergoing four spine surgeries.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, he expressed his optimism about the future, which also includes music and writing.
“I was out of the picture due to four spinal operations, but I’m now healed and ready to go,” he said before Christmas.
‘I’ve started music and writing again, which I’m very excited about. 2024, here we come!’
