Airline Katrina Leeder has married her partner Simon just two weeks after announcing her engagement.

The reality star, 48, who appeared in the hit fly-on-the-wall ITV series in the late 1990s, announced the news in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

Television personality Katrina was spotted posing in a beautiful white wedding dress with a long train that stretched along the floor at the Gretna Green Famous Blacksmiths Shop wedding venue.

Katrina announced her engagement to boyfriend Simon earlier this month.

She shared a photo of her diamond ring in an Instagram post, writing: “I can't stop looking at how much it sparkles.”

Katrina, who now works as a travel radio DJ, was inundated with a flood of congratulatory messages from her followers.

In a follow-up post a few hours later, Katrina gave some insight into her relationship with Simon, sharing the sad news that they are both battling cancer.

Katrina explained that she wanted to update her followers after not posting for a while: 'I feel like I should come here first to THANK everyone who has congratulated me on my engagement to my beautiful, loving, supportive partner Simon and to also in to respond to what is and is still happening in our lives.'

Katrina told her followers that she was being treated for her eighth bout of cancer.

“I'm currently in the process of beating thyroid cancer (I still have cancer cells, but we've been told it can be treated.),” she explained.

Katrina then revealed the sad news that Simon has also been diagnosed with incurable cancer.

“Through my poor health Simon has been my rock and as you can imagine it was a great shock when Simon became unwell and after a misdiagnosis and several tests we received the most excruciating news ever that Simon also has cancer,” wrote she. .

'Unfortunately Simon's cancer is incurable, but fortunately he has started chemotherapy to give him as much quality of life as possible.

“It is ironic that the situation has turned around and we are now on opposite sides, but one thing is for sure, he has a role model at his side who he will call his wife in the coming weeks to keep him fighting. Let's face it, I'm a professional, now that I've had cancer 8 times and I'm still here.

“Yes, no doubt, if we both say yes, we will have a mix of emotions, but one thing is for sure, we will have each other until the end and we wouldn't have it any other way.”

Katrina worked at the EasyJet check-in desk at Luton Airport and airline viewers followed her life both in and out of the workplace.

'I live every day. Every day is very precious to me, very important. I live each day as it comes and take what I can. Every day I'm here, I bless those two girls and have more time for them.”

She divorced her husband Julian a few years ago and is raising two daughters as a single mother.
