TikToker Cindy Currie (@mamacurrie) revealed that one of her tricks is having a solid gua sha routine.

Gua sha is an ancient Chinese technique that uses a smooth-edged tool to improve circulation in the face. Healthline wrote.

The method dates back to the Paleolithic, according to Rushmeaning gua sha can be thousands of years old.

For best results, Cindy says, consistency is key.

“Being consistent with your gua sha routine can reduce inflammation in your face, improve circulation, and even boost collagen production,” she wrote.

“It's important to include a collagen/hyaluronic acid foundation supplement for help from within, as well as a simple yet effective topical routine,” Cindy added.

Cindy was inspired to make a video about her routine after someone asked for exercises to help with “wobbly cheeks.”

She starts with a few drops of castor oil on her face. The idea is to let the gua sha “glide nicely”, and not pull on your skin.

You start at the base of your neck, pull the skin tight and then move up to the jawline, “shake it” and then continue up to the cheekbone.

Cindy also did the shaking method where she reached her eyebrows and forehead.

She does this five times on each side of her face.

“It doesn't have to be perfect,” the TikToker reminded her followers.

The final part of the routine is to use the “notch” of the gua sha to pull the jaw five times, for each side.

Although gua sha is safe, it can have some unintended side effects.

Because you're pulling on the skin, it can result in broken capillaries, minor bleeding or bruising, Healthline wrote.
