The spread retails for £1.85 at the supermarket giant and the artificial flavorings are what sweet taste lovers will love.

Cookies and cream is a desert flavor with chocolate cookies mixed into a sweet dairy product such as ice cream.

Almost half of the product consists of sugar, with every 100 grams containing 43 grams of sugar.

It provides approximately 23 servings from a 350g jar and can be used on breads and pastries and is suitable for vegetarians.

Satisfied customers posted on Facebook to let others know the new treat had hit the supermarket shelves.

One fan said: “Those cookies and cream are absolutely gorgeous! We have it on our pancakes; my 7 year old loves them!”

Another said: “The cookies and cream are great and gluten free, a win-win for my son too.”

While a third said: “Cookies and cream are so sickly but my daughter loves them.”

A fourth said: “The one with cookies and cream is luscious!”

Fans have also enjoyed a similar new spread: an irresistibly sweet hazelnut praline topping.

The £2 jar is packed with hazelnuts infused with cocoa and vanilla extract for a unique flavour.

The Sun also tested chocolate spread against Nutella, with the winner costing just half the price.

Nutella is an instantly recognizable flavor with smooth, thick, sticky hazelnut and cocoa spread – it tastes just like a whole pot with the soft center of a Ferrero chocolate.

Lindt now also sells a hazelnut spread to competitor Nutella.

The chocolate maker claims its ‘smooth mixture’ retains the ‘full chocolate aroma’ of its iconic treats.
