A youngster from CLUB BRUGGE almost scored a wonder goal, but instead got a bump the size of a golf ball on his forehead.
Shion Homma came close to a fantastic solo goal when he played against SK Beveren in the youth team Club NXT of Club Brugge.
The winger passed his marker with a clever step-over and a shimmy that gave him a shooting opportunity.
The goalkeeper closed the corner, but Homma brilliantly tapped the ball over him and his shot seemed destined for the net.
But while Homma was watching the ball to see if he scored, he accidentally bumped into the goal post.
The painful collision knocked the Japanese prodigy to the ground and left him with a huge bruise on his forehead.
Homma was treated immediately when a physiotherapist offered him an ice pack.
Luckily, he didn't suffer a serious injury and the 23-year-old was able to see the funny side as he smiled despite the pain.
But unfortunately for Homma, his shot was actually saved by Beveren defender Jenthe Mertens, awarding an own goal.
Some fans were shocked by the incident and one responded by saying: “Oh poor boy 😭”
