Huge clearance at The Body Shop ahead of the closure of the big DAYS service
THE Body Shop is preparing to close a major service in just days and a huge sale has been launched.
The health and beauty retailer is closing its Body Shop at Home service on February 23 after 30 years.
The Avon-style business allows individual advisors to sell products to customers from the comfort of their home.
Thousands of advisers are currently using the Body Shop at Home service and some have launched huge sales in a bid to clear out their remaining stock.
Sharing details of the sale on Facebook, a consultant said: “Just over a week until the Body Shop at Home closes its doors.
“I'm having a stock sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“There are three sections: facial and skin care, bath and body, hair, makeup and fragrance.”
There were no details on specific pricing, but there will be discounts of up to 50%.
Elsewhere, another consultant posted: “I'll be putting an order in before The Body Shop at Home officially closes on February 23, so let me know if you want anything.
“There is a 15% discount on body care (shower gels, body yoghurts/butters, hand creams etc.).”
These are just examples of the discounts we were able to find, but each offer varies depending on the individual advisor.
Consultants in Australia are also looking to make a profit on their remaining stock.
One social media user said: “Unfortunately The Body Shop is closing the independent advisor side of the business which means I will be closing mine too.
“Thanks to everyone who has supported me over the past five years, I appreciated it.
“I'm going to be clearing out my stock, so if you're interested in a bargain, head over to my sales group.”
If you're looking for a bargain, you can use the service until February 23.
Consultants can sell excess stock back to The Body Shop.
The axing of the service came just weeks before The Body Shop's UK arm collapsed into administration.
The owners of the retailer, Aurelius, have appointed administrators at FRP Advisory, casting doubt over the future of the iconic high street brand.
The ailing retailer has 199 locations and employs 2,000 workers in Britain.

The Body Shop will continue to trade, with stores and the online site remaining open and generating sales.
The Body Shop was bought by private equity firm Aurelius from former owner Natura and Co in November in a deal worth £207 million.
The cosmetics group said it wanted to shift its focus from the UK market to South America.
The Body Shop was founded in 1976 by Anita Roddick and her husband Gordon in Brighton.
It wanted to differentiate itself from other beauty retailers by focusing on ethically sourced and natural-based ingredients.
The brand joined the L'Oréal group in 2006, before being bought by Natura and Co in 2017.
