Brianna Ghey’s mother meets with the mother of one of the killers to ‘understand what she went through’ out of kindness
BRIANNA Ghey’s mother has met the mother of one of her daughter’s killers in an extraordinary act of kindness.
Esther Ghey37, said she spoke to Emma Sutton to “understand what she has been through”.
Brianna, 16, was stabbed 28 times Through Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffeboth fifteen at the time, who were imprisoned for life.
Esther said she felt “no resentment or anger.” to Jenkinson’s mother Emma.
She said: “We are both mothers trying to get through something that no one should ever have to go through.
“It was very emotional. We talked about very personal things, and she was open with me and she was so respectful too.

“I think her coming to me shows great courage.”
At the meeting in Warrington, Cheshirethey also discussed the Peace in Mind campaign that Esther launched in memory of Brianna to improve mental health awareness in schools.
Esther said that since her daughter’s death, she has been “overwhelmed” by the support her Peace in Mind campaign has received.
She added: “I could accept what happened and hide. . . or I can try to take a more positive approach and actually make something good out of a horrific situation.
They met recently Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and State Secretary for Science, Innovation and Technology Michelle Donelanto discuss it after I meet Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer earlier in the month.
After meeting Emma, Esther added: “As a former teacher, Scarlett’s mother was very interested in the two Peace in Mind campaigns to get mindfulness training into schools through Mindfulness in Schools Project and better child protection for social media and cell phones.”
