THE MET Office has warned of snow in two parts of Britain – and a major frost will sweep across the country within days.

A cold spell is possible in much of Britain from February 16.

The falling temperatures can bring this with it snowespecially in the north and east.

But the weather Later this month it will usually be drier and calmer than now.

Today it will be cloudy and windy, with occasional rain or drizzle in the west North West.

The east will enjoy brighter periods and conditions will be very mild nationwide.

Tonight will also be cloudy and mild, with some rain locally in the west.

In the north it feels brighter and fresher, although it is still quite windy.

Tomorrow it will still be mainly cloudy and mild in the south, with local rain in the west.

Showers are moving over the west Scotlandbut elsewhere it will be brighter with sunny spells.

Next week will start cloudy and mild, after which it will become colder in the north from Tuesday.

It will be rainy and cold at times, especially in the north and west of Britain.
