A Brazilian influencer was almost killed by her father after being beaten with a machete.

Bruna Tsuchiya suffered cuts and bruises to her back, arms and legs after Reinaldo Tsuchiya, 54, ran her over at the family hotel following an argument over a car repair debt and child support payments for her two younger siblings last Wednesday, according to the Pará Civile Police.

The 33-year-old woman, a dentist and more than 106,000 followers on Instagram, told investigators that Reinaldo pulled a machete from his office and chased her before locking herself in one of the hotel rooms.

Bruna called her mother to get help before her father broke down the door and stormed into the room, where he attacked her with rocks.

She managed to escape the room and ran towards the garage, where she fell and was subsequently pulled by her hair and hit with the machete.

“I experienced a nightmare, the feeling that my life would suddenly end there,” Bruna said in an Instagram Story post.

“I was sure it would be my last day, as a father who kills his own child,” she added.

‘How can a father have the courage to do something like that? Is there any justification?’

Reinaldo, who is charged with murder, told police that his daughter went to visit him to recover profits from the hotel owed to her mother, who owns the property with him.

He claimed they argued after she refused to pay $180 for the parts needed to repair her vehicle.

He claimed that Bruna took the machete from him and that he responded by taking a gun from her before she flew into a rage.

Police records obtained by Brazilian news channel G1 showed that Bruna’s mother was granted an order of protection in November 2023 after accusing Reinaldo of domestic violence.

Although Reinaldo was placed in protective custody, Bruna was granted a restraining order banning him from approaching her during a custody hearing Friday.

He cannot be within 100 meters of her and cannot be in the same place as her. He is also prohibited from contacting her by telephone and electronic messages.
