Grammy-winning country music icon Dwight Yoakam quit his show after suffering from heat exhaustion on Sunday.

The 67-year-old country star walked off stage after starting to feel unwell shortly after he started singing some tunes at the Railbird Festival in Lexington, Kentucky.

Hundreds of fans stood perplexed and concerned in the rain until Yoakam said he was overheated and dehydrated.

About 10 minutes later, Yoakam returned to the cheering crowd, but ended his show a little earlier than planned.

Yoakam took to X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday around 7:45 p.m. to give his fans an update that racked up more than 11,000 views.

“Dwight would like to thank all the Railbird fans for braving the elements with him this afternoon,” he wrote.

‘The combination of heat and humidity left Dwight with a brief bout of heat exhaustion, but he is absolutely fine and appreciates the singing-along fans for carrying him to the end of his set!

“And thanks to the Railbird staff and EMTs for responding quickly and making it all clear!”
