A brute who shook a baby so hard it left him blind and completely paralyzed has been jailed for three years.

Adam Andrews violently attacked the 21-day-old toddler, who now requires 24-hour care.

The 37-year-old was jailed for three years after being convicted of grievous bodily harm without intent.

Ipswich Crown Court heard how the boy fell victim to 'violent shaking' in June 2018, East Anglian Daily Times reports.

His mother told the court he is now blind and paralyzed, will never walk or talk and needs 24-hour care.

She said: “His bedroom is not filled with toys, but with feeding machines and medical equipment.

“He will never be able to get food or water and must be fed through a button in his intestines.”

The mother also revealed that her son is having between 30 and 40 seizures a day as a result of the attack.

She added: “I have to watch my child deteriorate because of what this man did in a fit of rage. He is not allowed to walk on the street while I take care of my child around the clock.

“I have to accept that there is a good chance that I will outlive my child.

“When I fall asleep every night, my biggest fear is… [he] won't wake up with me.”

The court was told the shaking probably happened within a few seconds and was a “spontaneous loss of control”.

Andrews has shown 'no remorse' since horrorit was said.

The criminal, from Great Whelnetham, near Bury St Edmunds, was cleared of a more serious charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Judge David Pugh said at his sentencing: “Exactly what happened later that evening and why, only you know.”
