Carrie Underwood wears her heart on her ankle, thanks to her brand new tattoo.

“When your 74-year-old mom asks you and your sisters to get matching tattoos on her in Vegas, the only questions are, ‘What?’ and ‘Where?’” the american idol champion, 40, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, July 2. “I never thought I would see that day Mama Carole [Underwood] would get some ink! 😂❤️.”

Carrie and her relatives – including sisters Shanna Underwood means And Stephanie U. Shelton – visited Darek RileyNevada studio together, where they agreed on a little heart design. While the country singer chose the tattoo on the top of her foot, Carole, Shanna and Stephanie chose positions on the inside of their wrists.

Carrie’s matching ink with her mom and siblings comes nearly two months after she got her last tattoo.

“Sisters…not by blood…but still sisters,” the “Before He Cheats” artist wrote via Instagram in May, revealing that she got matching flower tattoos with her best friends on a Florida getaway. “God did us a really great favor by bringing us all together. These ladies are strong, kind and loyal and I’m so glad I get to live life with them!!!!

“What a great run in #Vegas!!!” the Grammy winner stumbled on Instagram hours earlier on Sunday, sharing photos from her show the night before. “I can’t wait to come back in September. Thank you for treating us well!!! We’ll see you next time!!! ❤️.”

As Carrie’s career reaches new heights, a source told exclusively Us weekly in April that the musician – who shares two sons with husband Mike Fisher – “embraces” her new chapter in the midst of her career changes and turns 40.

“Her greatest wish as she focuses on all the paths in her life [is that] she wants to feel as good and healthy as long as she can,” the insider added, pointing out that Carrie has “many more goals” on her agenda but is “so proud” of what she’s already achieved.
