However, he was spotted in Adidas Predators during Manchester United's 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Sunday.

Casemiro, 31, announced his partnership with the sportswear brand on the same day as the Villa Park clash.

It comes after Nike shifted to a cost-cutting strategy in a bid to save $2 billion over the next three years.

It's a move that hasn't gone down well with many players who were previously ambassadors for the American company, with many stars heading elsewhere for their shoe deals.

Fellow Man Utd star Lisandro Martinez swapped Nike for Adidas in 2023.

Meanwhile, the likes of Harry Kane (Sketchers), Jack Grealish, Mateo Kovacic and Manuel Akanji (all Puma) have also left Nike in the past twelve months.

SunSport exclusively reported how Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham helped design the new Predator boots for the 30th anniversary.

Sam Handy, head of product for Adidas Football, told SunSport: “We work very closely with a great group of professional players involved in feedback from early test prototypes and adjustments.

“We worked with Jude on this Predator and heard his first reactions when we got the shoe for him.

“He has been an important part of our development of the shoe from a performance perspective.

“We are working closely with him on future generations, follow-on liveries where we build special editions for Jude directly from his input.

“He is very integrated into our creation process. He is a cherished partner of the brand.”

The shoe has also seen the return of the old-fashioned fold-over tongue for the first time since 2002 – with Bellingham and new Adidas signing Trent Alexander-Arnold enjoying early access.
