Cat Deeley ‘joins This Morning along with a host of other rotating presenters’ – after Holly Willoughby left the show

Cat Deeley has reportedly joined This Morning, along with their many other rotating presenters.

The TV personality and actress, 47, will take to the famous couch to co-host with the likes of Rylan Clark, Josie Gibson, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, reports say The sun.

It comes after Holly Willoughby left the show last month ‘for the sake of her family’ after discovering she was the target of a foiled kidnap and murder plot and has not been permanently replaced since.

It came five months after Philip Schofield’s departure after his affair with a young male showrunner was made public, followed by claims of an increasingly strained relationship with his co-host.

Cat started her career as co-presenter of the ITV children’s show SMTV Live, for which she won a BAFTA Children’s Award, and the spin-off chart show CD:UK.

A source told the publication: ‘Cat is a seasoned professional and executives have been keen to bring her on board for some time. She takes live TV at ease and is really witty and personal with guests.

‘She is comfortable interviewing both pop stars and politicians, so if things go well she could be a much more permanent solution to Holly’s departure. Cat would be the safe captain to keep the ship steady.

“Rylan was also a runaway success, so fans can expect to see a lot more from him in the future.”

Representatives for ITV and Cat have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.

The bookmakers’ new favorite as one half of This Morning’s presenting team was unveiled last Thursday as fans praised their presenting skills.

William Heuvel has announced that Rylan, 35, has 5/4 odds to take over from Phillip and more recently Holly.

Rylan currently presents the breakfast show alongside regular presenter Josie Gibson.

His high odds will be welcome news for Rylan, who has had a difficult year due to his mother’s ill health.

Rylan is currently a rotating presenter from Monday to Thursday alongside Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Rochelle Humes and Ben Shepherd.

However, it seems unlikely the duo will be permanent as Josie is only a 50/1 chance to replace Holly.

The favorite to replace Holly is Loose Women’s Christine Lampard.

William Hill also revealed the four people eyeing Rylan to replace Philip Schofield. Leader of the peloton is Dermot O’Leary.

Dermot, 50, is best known for his former presenting role on The X Factor. He currently presents This Morning alongside Alison Hammond, 48, and bookmakers say he has odds of 3/1 to continue the role permanently.

The father-of-one has been associated with This Morning since 2014 when he acted as a stand-in for Schofield.

Dermot admitted in September that the public could tell the awkwardness between him and Alison.

He said: ‘The presenters make the difference… if two people don’t get on, the viewers see it.’

“Alison Hammond, my co-host, and I didn’t really know each other when we started working together, but now we’re like family. I think there’s honesty in that.’

An insider co-signed this, saying: ‘Alison and Dermot got off to a rocky start, they had very different experience levels and came from completely different places, but they then started to get along quite well.’

Marvin, 38, member of boy band JLS, runners-up on the fifth series of X Factor in 2008.

He previously presented This Morning during the summer holidays with his wife Rochelle.

William Hill says he has odds of 3/1 to take over the top spot, while Rochelle Humes, 34, previously had odds of 10/1 to replace Holly.

The couple currently co-hosts the hit BBC Saturday night game show The Hit List.

Rochelle also regularly presented family favorite Ninja Warrior UK, which returns for season 5 next year.

Marvin and Rochelle are a hit with viewers who can relate to their busy household: the couple share daughters Alaia-Mai, 10, and Valentina, 6, and son Blake, three, together.

They are the favorites to take over from Willoughby and Schofield as hosts for Dancing On Ice in 2024, should Holly leave.

Although best known for his presentations, Stephen, 46, is also a magician.

He started his career presenting several children’s television programs on CITV with magical themes, and some without.

Stephen moved to mainstream television from 2006 to 2007 with Dancing On Ice: Defrosted.

He quickly began to gain popularity in 2007 when he became the presenter of Britain’s Got More Talent, a sister show to Britain’s Got Talent for acts that did not make it to the main show.

The presenter fulfilled this role until 2019.

Stephen officially became a household name when he started hosting the hit game show Catchphrase from its 2013 revival until now.

From 2012 to 2013 he was a guest presenter on This Morning.

Stephen is also the favorite to take over from Schofield as host of Dancing On Ice in 2024, should Holly choose to stay on.

Richard Madeley is at 14/1 to replace Schofield, says William Hill.

It’s no surprise that Richard, 67, is on this list, as he hosted the show when it started in 1988, along with his wife Judy, 75.

The couple left the show in 2001 to host their own show, Richard & Judy, which ran on Channel 4 until 2009.
