In the film version, starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Mcfadyen, Chatsworth was used as Pemberley after it was believed that Jane Austen based her idea of ​​the fictional property on Chatsworth House as she wrote the novel while in Bakewell, which is only six miles away.

It was also mentioned in the book as one of the estates that Elizabeth Bennet visits before arriving in Pemberley.
