Many A-listers took to their official Instagram accounts to honor US military veterans and thank them for their service and selfless contributions to the country.

Basic Instinct actress Sharon Stone, 65, and country music star Blake Shelton, 47, also posted their own tributes to celebrate the federal holiday, also known as Armistice Day.

The Parks and Recreation actor, 44, posted a series of photos of soldiers returning home to their loved ones and wrote a lengthy caption.

The 46-year-old NFL star – who was mercilessly trolled on social media after photoshopping himself into a recent post – shared a photo of himself greeting veterans and shaking their hands.

Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval also announced on his Instagram that he would be getting concert tickets for veterans at his show in Angola, Indiana.

For Pratt’s Instagram tribute, he wrote a lengthy post about how Americans should not take the freedoms in the United States and the American Dream for granted.

‘Happy Veterans Day! Today we salute the men and women in uniform who voluntarily entered danger to protect our way of life,” he began.

He added that America, like “every nation on earth,” has flaws but is “as close to perfection today as any country in history.”

He wrote that “the great experiment built on the foundation of liberty, justice, and freedom” could still be improved upon, noting that people “may disagree loudly with each other, free from violence or captivity.”

He added that many other countries in the world do not allow freedom of speech and that this is something that Americans should not take for granted.

For this, he says, we should thank ‘the courageous acts of warriors in uniform’.

Finally, he concluded his tribute by joking about his lengthy tribute: “Okay, Dad! We understand it!’

Shelton took to his Instagram Story to share a post on a blank background.

“This weekend we raise a glass to our veterans,” the country music star wrote in his tribute to the federal holiday.

“Thank you for your sacrifice and service,” he continued before adding the hashtag #VeteransDay.

Stone shared a black and white photo of the late actress Bea Arthur in her military uniform as a nod to her inspiring story.

The Golden Girls star – who died at the age of 86 after a battle with lung cancer in 2009 – had long denied military service while she was still alive.

However, service records show that she was in the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve before she began working in entertainment.

The caption of the message Stone shared from showrunner and director Shelly Goldstein stated that Arthur had worked as a truck driver and dispatcher.

She was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, North Carolina in 1944.
