Comedian punched in the face by furious father APOLOGISES for ‘inappropriate’ sexualised joke about his attacker’s three-month-old son after footage goes viral

A comedian who was punched in the face by an irate father has apologized for an “inappropriate” sexualised joke about his attacker’s three-month-old son after footage of the attack went viral.

Jaime Caravaca, a Spanish comedian, was performing a monologue during a show in Madrid on Monday night when he was suddenly interrupted by the irate father, who walked on stage and brutally hit him on the head.

The attacker, identified as Alberto Pugilato, was heard saying: “Those pedophile comments about my son… say them to my face… you piece of trash… now!”

In response to today’s brutal scene, the comic apologized for “an unfortunate and completely inappropriate comment” – with Pugilato accepting the apology and saying he wished his opponent “all the best.”

The far-left comedian had posted on social media the day before about far-right activist Pugilato’s baby, saying: ‘No one will be able to avoid the possibility [your son] being gay’ and that when he’s older he’ll get tired of ‘sucking black d***’.

Pugilato had posted a photo of him and his young son on X, with the caption, “Pride and joy.”

He then appeared at the comedian’s show to confront him, with onlookers trying to defuse the situation – but not before he managed to land a punch.

Caravaca said on social media today: “After what happened, what was intended as a joke ended up being an unfortunate and completely inappropriate comment on my part.

‘I apologize to anyone who feels offended. Let us put aside violence and leave behind a good world where people can grow freely.’

And posting underneath, Pugilato replied, “I accept your apology, Jaime. I defend freedom of speech the same way I defend the right to comment.

“I wish you no harm and I hope this helps others understand that children are sacred. All the best.’

Pugilato yelled at Caravaca during his set, saying, “What did you say, huh?” That my son started eating c***? He is three months old. Waste. What now? Say it to my face… say it to my face now.”

An unknown man tries to intervene, to which Pugilato responds, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m just a father defending his child.” He made sexualizing comments about my three-month-old son.”

He then points at Caravaca and says, “That has consequences,” before calling him a “clown.” He then slaps him in the face again and walks off stage.

Police were later called to the scene but made no arrests as the comedian chose not to press charges against the aggressor.

Pugilato has since commented eloquently on the attack MultiCanal radio, “I have been very uncomfortable, with a feeling I have never had in my life, very unpleasant and until I have had it before me I have not found peace.”

The video, which appeared on X, has spread like wildfire, putting the two leads in the spotlight.

Pugilato's motivation for hitting the comedian was related to a comment made by Caravaca the day before on X, after the father posted a photo with his son. In the comments, Caravaca said the baby was gay and that he would get sick from 'sucking black c***'

Pugilato, member of a music band of the same name, is also known for his involvement in far-right movements, according to the Spanish news magazine: El Mundo. He often shares messages against illegal immigration and the LGBT community.

According to El Mundo, his songs also contain homophobic, xenophobic and racist comments.

In his tune ‘I Swear’ the lyrics read: ‘an iron eagle shows us the way’, referring to the Nazi imperial eagle.

He is also active on social media, with over 30,000 followers on X.

A few days ago, he reposted a video of someone burning an LGBT flag and giving the Nazi salute.

Caravaca is his polar opposite, known in Spain for his left-wing stance and his LGBT activism, as well as his irreverent and sarcastic comedic style.

Several have defended the comedian and his right to free speech.

“He (Pugliato) can’t understand that his son could be gay,” one X user commented, while another said: “What father doesn’t defend his child? What a disgusting comic… if he has to say those things to gain fame…’.

Another user said: ‘Don’t mess with kids’, while another commented: ‘not very funny now, eh?’, referring to the punches the comedian received.

It’s not the first time Caravaca has joked about children.

When Catalan deputy for nationalist political party Vox, Monica Lora, posted an image of a little boy holding a Vox flag on social media, Caravaca commented that the boy was “going to be gay whether you like it or not” .

He also added that the child would ‘swallow the black worker’s c***’.

After the attack, Pugilato took to X to post a photo of his dinner: a plate of ham and steak, with the caption: “Enjoy a job well done.”

The attack is reminiscent of Will Smith’s infamous Oscars slam in 2022, in which the American actor walked on stage and punched comedian Chris Rock in the face while presenting the best documentary.

The blow was in response to a joke Rock made about the shaved head of Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
