Heartbreaking moment confused dog tries to run after ‘sub-human’ owner after being hurled roughly over high fence

A trusting dog had no idea she had just been abandoned by her cruel owner when she saw him running away after throwing her over a fence into a stranger’s backyard.

The two-year-old dachshund seemingly maintained her unwavering loyalty to the man who swung into the fence, picked himself up and ran back to the fence in confusion as her former owner flew down the street.

But she “cried every day” when the man did not return after his callous abandonment in the southwest valley Vegas on Monday.

The shocking images were captured on the ring camera of homeowner Michelle ‘Mickey’ Meyering, who returned home to find the young animal in her backyard ninety minutes later.

“We are desperately trying to find information about the identity of this horrible subhuman who threw this dog into our yard,” she said. 8News now after watching the video.

The grainy footage shows the dog snuggling up in the arms of the unidentified man wearing shorts and a blue T-shirt as he approached the home near Flamingo Road and Torrey Pines Drive at 11 a.m.

He then runs along the fence for a moment before throwing the dog high in the air with both arms.

She appears stunned for a moment after the 12-foot fall, but immediately runs after her master and presses her nose against the fence to watch him disappear.

Seconds later, Meyering’s two 80-pound Weimeranas appear on screen and curiously run over to investigate the intruder.

Meyering says she is baffled by the man’s motive. She wonders if he wanted to place the dachshund with people who already cared for dogs — or hoped the two well-built animals would tear his pet to pieces.

But her dogs welcomed the newcomer with “open paws,” she said as she began figuring out what to do with the abandoned animal.

“Luckily our Goofball Weims seemed to like her just fine,” she said. ‘Our little lady seems to be rushing to her aid… Dear Sophie Dophie.’

Meyering believes the dog may have lived locally because its barking sounds familiar, but images of the man and the car he is believed to have driven away in are too unclear to be identifiable.

She called the Animal Foundation, who identified him as a “fawn doxie” and took him in to begin the rehoming process.

She added that the dog was observed after she became “so scared that she punched my husband in front of animal control.”

The dog has received new rabies shots and Meyering has purchased a new bed, bowls, a collar, a leash, food and a GPS tag to help whoever eventually adopts her.

In the meantime, she is busy filing a police report.

“If this is your dog that got away and another cruel person threw her away thinking she was ours, please go get her,” she wrote in a post on Next Door.
