Millie Gibson has been labeled a ‘diva’ by the cast and crew of Dr Who after struggling with night shots since filming began in Cardiff last month.

The 18-year-old actress, who plays Ruby Sunday, will star alongside Ncuti Gatwa and Jonathan Groff in the forthcoming series of the BBC cult sci-fi series, which turns 60 this year.

Despite throwing herself into the project, Millie’s attitude to movie times reportedly didn’t go down well with the team working on the show.

A source told The Mirror: “Nobody can question Millie’s commitment to Doctor Who, but there’s a lot of pressure that comes with a role like this.

She is determined to do well. But the days are long and sometimes, when night shots have been suggested, she has made her feelings clear.

Millie is a professional on set and while night shots are part of the job, they can be exhausting even for the most experienced actors.

She won’t be the first or the last to get a little annoyed with a late-night shoot, but it has earned her some biting comments behind the scenes. The word ‘diva’ has been used once or twice when tempers fray.’

MailOnline has contacted Millie’s representatives and the BBC for comment.

The blonde beauty is set to join the long-running show as character Ruby, who acts as the new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa’s companion.

“Although I am still in disbelief, I am beyond honored to be cast as the Doctor’s Companion,” Millie said in the BBC’s statement.

“It’s a gift of a role, and a dream come true, and I’ll do everything I can to try and fill the boots the traveling companions have traveled in before me.”

She added, “And what better way to do that than to be at the side of the fantastic Ncuti Gatwa, I just can’t wait to get started.”

Doctor Who will air on the BBC in the UK and Ireland and streaming platform Disney+ will show episodes to the public elsewhere.

EastEnders legend AnitaDobson, 73, also stars in the series, playing Mrs Flood, the elderly neighbor of The Doctor’s companion Ruby.

Anita recently dropped the name of her Doctor Who character and what her role will entail while speaking exclusively to MailOnline.

She brushed off talk of starring in the show, admitting, “I wouldn’t say starring, I think the Lord himself, Ncuti and Millie are starring, I’m just joining the ranks by.
