Drama in the skies as British Airways holiday flight is diverted after passenger suffers a ‘medical emergency’
A British Airways flight has been diverted after a passenger suffered a “medical emergency”.
Holidaymakers were returning to London from Gran Canaria when pilots were forced to change their route.
The aircraft was over northern France when the aircraft declared a general state of emergency for the 7700.
The BA2707 flight departed Gran Canaria Airport today at 6:30 PM.
It was scheduled to land London Gatwick Airport – but instead landed in Brest, France at 10:53 p.m.
The squawk code was issued around 10 p.m.
A BA spokesperson said: “The flight was diverted due to a customer requiring medical attention where it normally landed.
“Our teams are doing everything they can to ensure customers can continue their journey as quickly as possible.”
