While most women in their 20s might be going on a girls’ vacation, Amber Olivia has been exploring Santorini, New Zealand and cruising the Caribbean.
Life is one long vacation for the actress and it has been that way since she became an entertainer on board a cruise ship in 2019.
Better known as @amboliviaa on Tiktok, the young woman even gives a glimpse behind the curtain and reveals what life is like on board.
Influencing is not her only role either: Amber plays Fortuna Luck, the luckiest woman on the seven seas, and also a pirate to entertain guests.
Not only will she perform in several shows per day, but the Mansfield native will also be present as a ‘resident guest entertainer’ on the various excursions.
Taking time out to destinations like Hawaii, Montenegro and the Canary Islands also comes at no extra cost – as Amber explained in a now-viral video.
“We don’t have to pay for shore excursions,” she explained, adding: “We sometimes go on them for free as an ‘escort’…you can sign up [and] if you get approval, you can go completely free.
However, the serious savings don’t stop there: the young actress reveals that accommodation is also free on the seven seas.
“Sometimes guests think we love a helicopter every day,” she joked, with Amber revealing that staff are assigned a cabin based on their position.
She can even get away without grocery shopping every week, as most of the food is provided for the cast and crew.
If you fancy dining in style, there are even staff discounts at the cruise ships’ most luxurious restaurants and Amber will often enjoy special occasions.
While people often joke that death and taxes are an inevitable part of life, this is not the case for those who work on cruise ships.
Despite being allowed by the government, the content creator has come under fire for only paying National Insurance.
“I mentioned this in another video and everyone came up to me in the comments and said ‘shame on you for not paying for your country,’” she revealed, lamenting, “I didn’t make the rules.”
However, before you sign up to sail the seven seas, there is one major downside to life on board, as twenty-somethings shared, it can put a strain on your love life.
Unlike the cast of Below Deck, Amber admits that dating cruise ship guests is a big no-no.
Even though she is currently single, the travel influencer refuses to bend the rules, stating that it is “not worth her job.”
“This is the biggest no-no in your contract ever, like if you do this…you will be fired,” she emphatically told fans, adding that you can even be caught on CCTV.
“We are encouraged to interact and socialize, but that’s it. You are not allowed to go back to someone else’s huts, and they are not allowed to go back to yours,” she said.
She then joked: “We’re not living in the days of the love boat.”
Taking partners on board is also problematic, with crew having to inform senior staff about possible visits – which isn’t very romantic.
Well, that’s a hole in things.
