Mist-shrouded mountains, mesmerizing underwater images, a baby monkey being 'scolded' by its mother and a super moon 'held' by a skyscraper.

And a busy 'double' roundabout, serving both cars and pedestrians.

These are some of the scenes captured by stunning winning national and regional shortlisted entries Sony World Photography Awards 2024.

The renowned competition hosts several competitions every year with more than 395,000 entries from more than 220 countries by 2024.

The overall champions in the Student, Youth, Open and Professional competitions will be announced on April 18 and their work will be on display in London 's Somerset House from April 19 to May 6.

This spectacular image shows Ba Den Mountain shrouded in mist. At 996 meters high, the peak, which resembles an inverted bowl, is the highest in Vietnam's Mekong Delta. At the top is a Bodhisattva statue, cast from more than 170 tons of red bronze. At 72 meters high, it is the tallest bronze Buddha statue in Asia, located on a mountain top. Vlatko Rafeski has been shortlisted for the regional awards for Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria and North Macedonia thanks to this mesmerizing photo showing a waxing crescent moon over Macedonia's Lake Kozjak.  The photographer explained: 'Because I was using a telephoto lens, I took two shots that I could stack on top of each other, giving me a sharply focused moon and foreground.  I find this kind of moon mystical'

That's what the Sony World Photography Awards say about this incredible image, which shows a school of fish swimming among underwater images.  It is shortlisted in the regional awards for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova
