Hamas' youngest hostage baby Kfir seen for the first time in Gaza in terrifying video taken after horror kidnapping
BABY Kfir Bibas – Hamas's youngest hostage – was seen alive for the first time in Gaza in a terrifying video recorded hours after his kidnapping.
CCTV footage Shared by the IDF shows the one-year-old, his brother Ariel and mother Shiri being taken Hamas in the east of Khan Younis.
The chilling video appears to show a woman carrying a child as she is escorted by a group of armed men, who wrap a sheet around her before she is taken to a vehicle.
A photo of Shiri Bibas, taken when she was kidnapped with her children on October 7, shows the mother wearing a similar sheet.
A spokesperson for the Bibas family said: “You can see the family arriving in Gaza alive, and Hamas is the one solely responsible for the security of Shiri, Ariel and Kfir.”
In January, a somber birthday ceremony was held for baby Kfirwho became one while held captive in Gaza.
Orange balloons – a nod to Kfir's ginger her – a teddy bear cake and his photos were in Nir Oz's abandoned kindergarten 101 days later Terrorists kidnapped him on October 7.
The baby is now believed to have spent a third of his life as a hostage.
He was only eight months old when Hamas terrorists stormed Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7 in their cross-border massacre in Israel.
Kfir has since become Hamas' youngest of the 240 people kidnapped by Hamas terrorist group and returned to Gaza as prisoners.
Hamas previously said that Kfir, his four-year-old brother Ariel and their mother Shiri were killed during the Israeli offensive that followed, while their father, Yarden, survived.
But the IDF has said the claim has not been verified.
Relatives and friends back home have refused to let hope die for the safe recovery of the whole family.
“We are celebrating a birthday for a child who is not here,” Shiri's cousin, Yosi Shnaider, told Reuters ahead of baby Kfir's birthday.
“We make him a cake, we put up balloons and pictures and blessings and stuff, and he's not there. It's crazy.”
Baby Kfir was due to be born in December released together with his mother and brother before terrorists “decided not to do this,” the IDF said.
Israel recovered about half of its hostages during a ceasefire in November The baby boy's aunt, Ofri Bibas, pleaded for his immediate release.
Ofri pleaded for their safe return, telling local media: “Right now, they are the youngest hostages still in Hamas captivity.
'We don't know where they are being held. As far as we know, they're kept underground.
“We are very concerned about the 10-month-old baby on formula as the main diet.”
Ofri added: “We call on the Israeli government, Qatar and Egypt, everyone involved in these negotiations and this deal, to do everything they can to include our family in this deal and release them as soon as possible to leave.”
