HYALURONIC ACID is the natural substance that started the trend of skin care with active ingredients.

It is the solution for anyone looking for plumper, more hydrated skin.

We test three new serums for hydrating the skin

This week I’m testing three new serums.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, £8.80 for 30ml, boots.com: If you’ve tried this before and thought you didn’t like it, the brand that brought single-ingredient skin care to the masses has updated the original formula for a consistency that’s less sticky and delivers more benefits.

The Ordinary has added ceramides that help nourish dry skin.

I prefer the new texture – the lightweight consistency lasts like silk and absorbs almost immediately, which is great for applying makeup on top.

I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do.

It’s definitely a new favorite.

Bioderma Hydrabio Hyalu+ Hydrating Facial Serum for Dehydrated Skin, £32 for 30ml, boots.com: You may recognize the Bioderma brand from the cult micellar water loved by industry experts and celebrities alike.

But they also offer a truly impressive – and underrated – range of targeted skin treatments.

This hyaluronic acid serum also contains niacinamide, which is one of my favorite skincare products thanks to its multi-tasking soothing and spot-fighting properties.

Unfortunately, I found that this left my skin sticky and starting to pill when I applied my moisturizer to it, which is a big no-no for me.

Luxury

Shani Darden Skin Care Moisture Boost Plumping Serum, £72 for 39ml, cultbeauty.com: This is the first product I’ve tried from Shani Darden, and I was immediately impressed.

It’s not just any hyaluronic acid, but contains a whole cocktail of other skin-loving ingredients: panthenol, snow mushroom, glycerin and brightening antioxidants.

From the first use my skin glowed.

You only need one pump for the entire face.

If you have the money, this is a clear winner, but The Ordinary takes the top spot on balance due to its affordable price tag.

Choice of the week

The hype surrounding Milk Makeup is worth it

TIKTOK users have probably seen the Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Tint, £22, go viral after it launched in the US last month.

And from today they are finally available for sale in Great Britain.

Looking like real jelly, the new formula glides onto the skin providing a long-lasting stain that is weightless.

The hype is really worth it.
