Before he raised his sticks and left Asia in January, Riyan worked 30 hours a week as a receptionist Power League.

He earns just £11 and lives with his parents Londonhe realized that he could not enjoy life and had difficulty renting alone.

Riyan decided he couldn’t feel at home England and started looking elsewhere.

After visiting Thailand three times and falling in love with the country, he booked the one-way flight from Heathrow for £500.

Riyan, now a content creator, said: “I have no intention of ever living in Britain again.

“I’ll come back to see my family, but I don’t feel like Britain is the kind of place I can see myself living in now.

‘As a country, things are not going in the right direction.

‘I simply couldn’t move out of my parental home with my wages.

‘I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to pay the rent.

‘How can people afford to live in Britain when rents are skyrocketing and houses are unaffordable?

‘Here in Thailand the cost of living is a tenth the price compared to Britain.”

Another reason why Riyan left Britain was the increase in crime, as he said he felt constantly unsafe.

He said: “If you know London there is so much knife crime and theft.

“You don’t feel safe walking down the street and it’s not getting any better.

“In here Thailandpeople leave their keys and bags on their bikes.

“You don’t have to look back when you walk home at night and women walk alone at night.”

Riyan said his parents were extremely “supportive” of his decision and that he hopes to fly them out one day so they can retire.

He added: “I would love to bring my family here.

“My dream is to support my parents and help them retire. The retirement goal in Britain is so difficult to achieve.”
