Adam Thomas is reportedly ready to sign up to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

The actor, 34, is known for his role as Adam Barton in Emmerdale, while he rose to fame while starring in 2016’s I’m A Celebrity, where he finished in third place.

And now the TV star would be eyeing a spot on the BBC dance show this year.

Adam, who is married to wife Caroline Daly, has previously spilled over his love for the show, even joking that he’d like to “experience” Strictly’s infamous curse.

A source told The sun: ‘After two decades on screen and as one of the Thomas brothers, he immediately brings with him a huge fan base. That’s what strict bosses like.

“Producers also see him as someone who can fill the young hunk role, which is important and they often see them choosing soap stars.”

MailOnline has reached out to representatives for Adam and Strictly for comment.

In the past, soap hunks have thrived on Strictly, with Hollyoaks’ Danny Mac coming second in 2016, while Adam’s Emmerdale friend Kelvin Fletcher emerged victorious in 2019 after being called up at the last minute to replace Jamie Laing to replace.

The likes of Corrie’s Will Mellor, EastEnders stars James Bye, Jake Wood and Davood Ghadami have also competed in the past.

Adam is one of a trio of famous brothers, with twin Scott having appeared on Love Island, while older brother Ryan is famous for playing Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street.

The actor, who stars in Waterloo Road, married wife Caroline in 2017 and they share children Elsie-Rose, five, and son Teddy, eight.

In April, the full line-up of judges and professional dancers for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing was confirmed after BBC bosses became angry over pay rises in a row.

Despite the dispute, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas will all return to the judging panel when the show returns.

Fans of the show will see familiar faces on the dance floor, with almost the same lineup of professional dancers returning – there’s one star who won’t be making an appearance, though.

Cameron Lombard quit the show two years after joining the lineup and performing in the ensemble.

A spokesperson for Strictly told MailOnline: ‘Cameron is a fantastic artist and we have enjoyed working with him on Strictly for the past two years.

“He is currently pursuing other opportunities but will always be part of the family and our door will always be open to him in the future.”
