I’m a teacher who starred in the new Indiana Jones movie – the pay gap is startling

A teacher from London who starred in the new Indiana Jones movie has revealed that the pay gap is surprising despite being in a “minor role.”

Mohammed Kamel, 46, is a London-based teacher who was eventually scouted for the new Indiana Jones movie after his role in The Crown as Ali Al-Fayed.

Filming six weeks before the new blockbuster, he met his “hero” Harrison Ford, 80, with whom he shares a “stare-off” in the film.

Mohammed plays “one of the bad guys” and is hit on the head with a champagne bottle by 37-year-old Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

He told the outlet, “I’m a man of very humble beginnings, and I’m a teacher.

“What you earn in a month of teaching, you make in a week or five days of acting.

“It’s four or five times as good. And you know, I have a small part. I’m not one of the big stars.’

When the kids at his school in Wembley heard about his role, they took selfies with him and thought it was really cool.

But Mohammed revealed that he didn’t have to do much to get the part, saying he had to ‘barely’ audition.

He even compared waiting rolls coming through to London buses, saying you wait for one to arrive and ‘there are three coming at once’.

And when he was told he got the job, he still didn’t know what movie it was or who he’d star in it with.

He said it eventually found out and remembered hearing the costume department talk about Harrison.

Mohammed also revealed to the outlet that Phoebe is down to earth and friendly and that Harrison is a “really nice guy” who likes to chew oranges.

But Mohammed revealed that he didn’t have to do much to get the part, saying he had to ‘barely’ audition as he was being scouted for his role in The Crown.

But despite working with some big names in the industry, he said the food there wasn’t much better than the average school dinner.

Mohammed also revealed to the outlet that Phoebe is down to earth and friendly and that Harrison is a “really nice guy” who likes to chew oranges.

Harrison and Phoebe looked sensational as they posed together for snaps at the film’s UK premiere on Monday.

The actress donned a chic metallic chain mail dress with a dramatic white cape as she posed for snaps on the red carpet at Cineworld Leicester Square.

While Harrison looked neat and tidy in a black suit paired with polished shoes.

Phoebe’s incredible looks didn’t go unnoticed by her co-star, who was pictured looking down at her dress as they shared a fun exchange at the event.
