The Jharkhand JPSC Combined Civil Services Preliminary exam will consist of two papers of objective type (multiple choice questions) and carries a maximum of 400 marks.

JPSC Combined Civil Service Examination 2023: The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has started the registration process for the Combined Civil Service Exam 2023. The last date for submitting the online application form is February 29. 342 vacant posts will be filled through this study. Jharkhand JPSC Combined Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2023: Exam Pattern

  • The preliminary examination will consist of: two papers of the objective type (multiple choice questions) and have a maximum of 400 points.
  • This examination is intended solely as a screening test.
  • The marks obtained by the candidate in the preliminary examination and which are explained qualified for admission to the Main exam are not counted in determining their final merit.
  • There will be no negative marking for wrong answers in the preliminary exam.
  • When a candidate gives more than one answerit will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the answers given is correct and no points are awarded.
  • Like a question remains blank i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be an answer no punishment for that question.

Jharkhand JPSC Combined Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2023: Syllabus

The preliminary investigation consists of: two mandatory paperseach of 200 points namely,

  • (i) General Studies Paper-I
  • (ii) General Studies Paper-II

The paper will consist of 100 objective questions, each of 2 points, taken from the topics below. Candidates must answer all questions.

(A) History of India: 15 questions

  1. Ancient India (5 questions)
  2. Medieval India (5 questions)
  3. Modern India (5 questions)

(B) Geography of India: 10 Questions

  1. General geography (3 questions)
  2. Physical Geography (3 questions)
  3. Economic geography (2 questions)
  4. Social and demographic geography (2 questions)

(C) Indian polity and governance: 10 questions

  1. Constitution of India (4 questions)
  2. Public Administration and Good Governance (4 questions)
  3. Decentralization: Panchayats and Municipalities (2 questions)

(D) Economic and sustainable development: 10 questions

  1. Basic Features of Indian Economy (4 Questions)
  2. Sustainable development and economic issues (4 questions)
  3. Economic reforms and globalization (2 questions)

(E) Science and technology: 15 questions

  1. General sciences (6 questions)
  2. Agriculture and technological development (6 questions)
  3. Information and communication technology (3 questions)

(F) Jharkhand specific questions (general awareness of history, society, culture and heritage) 10 questions

(G) National and international current events: 15 questions

(H) General questions of various nature, for which no subject specialization is required, such as: 15 questions
