The King paid tribute on social media today to mark Prince William’s 41st birthday.

The official Twitter of the royal family and Instagram accounts have marked the occasion with a lovely behind-the-scenes photo of the Monarch and his son sharing an intimate moment.

Royal photographer Chris Jackson revealed that he captured the moment between the two men during a rehearsal ahead of the Monarch’s coronation.

Pictured is King Charles in the gold robes he donned at the ceremony in Westminster on May 6, while his first-born son lovingly handled the collar.

Both men look relaxed and laughing together during the sweet moment.

“Wishing the Prince of Wales a very happy birthday today,” the social media post read, accompanied by a red balloon emoji.

Prince William has been busy getting engaged in recent days following Trooping the Color over the weekend, followed by Father’s Day on Sunday.

Yesterday, the royal family spoke to English stars ahead of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

England, who won the European Championship in 2022, is the second favorite to win Down Under, and four-time champions USA are expected to take home the trophy.

William, who is president of the FA, chatted with superstar Barcelona right-back Lucy Bronze and her teammates, while also taking part in table football with the team.

The royal family previously said the team has an “exciting summer” ahead of them and praised the team for “achievement so much and inspired so many”.

Last year, the Duke of Cambridge put on a heartfelt display when he presented the Lionesses with their trophy following their Euro 2022 win.

The royal family, who have met the team a number of times as president of the Football Association, gave captain Leah Williamson a hug, shared a joke with goalkeeper Mary Earps and seemed particularly familiar with longest-serving lioness Jill Scott.

The visit marked the start of a busy week for the Prince of Wales, following the sweet Father’s Day tributes shared online.

The heir to the throne’s official Instagram account has released a new photo of Prince William with his three children to mark the occasion.

In Prince William’s latest photo, Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 8, stared up at their dad, while Prince Louis, 5, beamed directly into the camera as he wrapped his arms around dad in a giant bear hug.

The image also included a subtle but poignant tribute to the children’s great-grandmother, as they posed on a bench installed in Windsor to commemorate the late Queen’s 90th birthday on April 19, 2016.

The photo was taken earlier this year by photographer and family friend Millie Pilkington at the Windsor estate – possibly at the same time as the pictures of Louis in a wheelbarrow to mark his fifth birthday in April.

No doubt he’s wearing the same outfit: a £75 Fair Isle jumper from Lallie London over a white and blue checked collared shirt.

George mirrored Dad in shirt and jeans while Charlotte wore a pretty yet simple daisy print dress by Rachel Riley London, one of Mum Kate’s favorite childhood designers.
