Meet Isla McNabb, age 2, who won the Guinness World Record for being the youngest member of the High IQ Society

2 years old, Isla McNabb from Kentucky made headlines when she became the youngest female member of Mensa, a high IQ association. She amazed everyone with her incredible ability to read at such a young age. With an IQ in the 99th percentile, Isla’s extraordinary intellect has also received recognition from the Guinness World Record. The 2-year-old has shown cognitive skills that defy her young age, suggesting a promising future.

HOW DID ISLA MCNABB BECOME THE YOUNGEST MEMBER OF SOCIETY WITH THE HIGHEST IQ IN THE WORLD?

According to the Guinness World Record, Isla McNabb’s exceptional reading ability caught her parents’ attention when her father, Jason McNabb, spelled the word “red” on a writing pad, and Isla promptly read it out loud. Encouraged by her quick comprehension of words, he moved on to more challenging words like “chair” and “sofa,” using alphabet blocks. Isla’s mother, Amanda McNabb, recognized their daughter’s advanced abilities and decided to have her IQ tested. Unsurprisingly, the results showed that she qualified for membership in the prestigious association with a high IQ, demonstrating her exceptional intellectual abilities.

“When she was seven months old, she would choose certain items from picture books when asked,” said Isla’s father, Jason McNabb. Together with her parents, Isla’s psychologist was surprised when she heard about her abilities. She excels in math and reading, but also performs above average in some other subjects. She can communicate in American Sign Language, which surprises her parents from whom she learned.

Despite her extraordinary talents, Isla’s parents prioritize her happiness and holistic development. While they recognize her exceptional abilities, their commitment is to care for her like a normal child. Her parents now use other resources to keep Isha’s very active mind occupied and engaged. By signing up with Mensa, they were able to find a community of other parents sharing resources. “The biggest benefit for Mensa is the community,” says Jason McNabb.
